Westboro church pickets Oklahoma children funerals

not at all since that would be pretty hard in my case. All I'm asking is what religious rule would their protests infringe upon?

Any multitude of religions would work. Do you think Westboro spouting their religious views upon a group of others who do not share the same religion isn't a violation of the constitution?

Or do you believe it is a constitutional right to walk into a Synagogue spouting anti-Semitic beliefs. How about showing up at a Mass and shouting Koranic verses about their destruction at the end of a scimitar.

then you also believe that everyone who believes in the 2nd amendment must own a gun? Anyone who believes in the freedom of religion must attend services? Believe in the 24th you must vote?

Most people I know who would adamently defend each as important those would probably fall into the category of people of do what each protects.......

how is allowing them to assemble endorsing their religious views? If you want to go that route then Sunday mornings will be a whole lot different in the US

and to the last part I don't believe those are public buildings so couldn't the offenders be removed?

How is screaming at the top of their lungs as a group so that members of the deceased hear their religious beliefs not expressing their views?

Its not public property they started on either.

I am just arguing with you, I think they have been largely marginalized by local jurisdictions. I doubt the later ones have heard a thing or even knew they were there other than reading articles about them claiming to come.

Don't be such a douchbag! :)

no it's not. If you're stupid enough to beat someone down then you deserve the penalties

So if you had a loved one who passed away and these fools were outside the church acting a fool, would this not infuriate you to raise your hand? Maybe you just have a cooler head lol

has any group gone to WBC and protested outside while they were having services? I'm figuring a dose of what they've been dishing for all these years would be good for them.

dang, called a d-bag twice in one day. Happy Thanksgiving to me :cray:

Do you have to have one? Thats the question. Mvol made this point earlier.

well there is one for the assembly and if they are infringing on someone's religious rights it made sense to me that it would be written down.

And on a side note, I can't wait to put the finishing touches on my religion that requires I drink a beer every hour on the hour

As sarcastic as that was, that kinda made my point.

I think Michael Moore, of all people, took a bus load of gays and lesbians to their church. That must have been comedy gold right there.

Ok playing devil's advocate here as I really see where UT is going with this and mostly agree with him (tho still the people doing this have a special place in hell reserved for them in my mind), however just bringing this up.

I understand we have a constitutionally protected right to free speech. However, does that not apply to just being free from fear of retribution for voicing opinions? IE if I say and write "I think all people who fight in the Military are going to hell," I can't be arrested. So really you can have your opinion but there's a time and a place...

So ok, we have assembly: would this not apply to only public places (Gov't Buildings, parks etc). So at this cemetary (and this really depends on the type of cemetary this is) would the land the grave is on be privately owned, thus it's perfectly in the right of the private land owner to decide who can and cannot come on the land? I know it sounds like they were protesting later on a ways from the site, but initially weren't they on top of the funeral itself basically?

Is it in my constitutional right to defecate on the WBC's podium?

Yes, it's un-American to ban these fools, but I think it's very patriotic to perform smelly bodily functions on their property for praising the deaths of American children.

Hell, let's burn the mother down.

This should be done. And although I am usually above stooping to the level of the moronic, when a member of their church dies, protesting that funeral would be sweet justice.
