I'm not a Christian, and I rarely advocate violence. But I'm ok with it in this case, they didn't kill him. The government should protect free speech. That doesn't mean the people have to. Clearly if you are being an *******, you might get your ass beat. That's life. Get drunk, hit on another man's women, might get your ass beat. IMO this is just a case of where the law can't stop these people from doing something that is obviously wrong, therefore, the people take it into their own hands. I don't think it's a bad thing when used in the right place.
If you don't believe you should have your ass beat for protesting at a funeral, then you must have been home schooled because you grew up with a different set of rules of respect then the rest of us. And I'm not trying to portray a wild west mentality, but there's still a world out there where people don't do certain things regardless of what rights one might have.
A funeral is not the place to express your first amendment rights regardless of what laws say. It's a place of mourning for family and loved ones. And at a funeral it's not protesting, it's the most ridiculous, sickening form of attention whoring ever seen. At the same time, it's not the laws place to intervene. Therefore, I can think of no better reason for someone to have his ass beat, than "protesting" at a funeral.
Thinking that nobody deserves an ass beating is part of the wusssification of the american male. If these morons showed up at a funeral for anyone in my family...I'd start delivering ass beatings too. Both of my grandfathers that served in WWII would be damn proud that I did it.

Persons deserve ass beatings the minute they lay their hands on another individual.
They also deserve ass beatings the minute they laugh in your face about a family member dying.
Something tells me you'd struggle to restrain yourself if someone was getting in your face saying "Your mom deserved to die! She is burning in hell!". Especially when it just happened a few days prior.
Something tells me I would completely restrain myself.

Congrats then. Although I'm not sure you can say that with certainty since it's never actually happened to you.
Guess I'm not cool enough to control my emotions immediately after a family member dies. As if I'm not hurt and angry enough, people are choosing to rub it in to get their jollies off. That's when I choose to rub their face into the pavement and curb stomp them to get my jollies off. If I go to jail, so be it. Better than being a coward that stands by and watches someone essentially spit on their loved ones grave.
You pretentious and presumptuous pr***. You are right, that specific evnt has not occurred to me. Instead, I've found myself in the same room with the man who resourced, planned, and executed a complex IED ambush on my platoon.
If you want tol have this discussion, I would be more than thrilled to discus cowardice with you. If not, and you decide to realize that maybe, just maybe some Americans have life experiences that lie well outside of societal norms, then feel free to delete your BS sob story and your tacit implication that I am a coward for not fighting over simple ****ing words.
Ball's in your court.
