I am hoping all of the freshmen from last year are coming back. They have so much potential with good coaching and off season conditioning. Question about assistants: If Harper brings her husband on as an assistant, how many other assistants will be hired/retained. Concerning the recruiting coordinator Reeves, does she do mostly recruiting or is she also responsible for coaching players?

I Think if she keeps Reeves and I hope she does then husband will replace Gordan and hire one for dean or vice versa. Needs to be a top notch one in my opinion. She can have a volunteer assistant as in the past. Not sure but she may or may not replace strength coach and video person as well. May be someone I forgot but I think Phil will let her hire a top notch coach and good recruiter to go with Reeves. I don't look for her to bring any other asts from MO State myself! JMHO as always!

DeerPark12 had indicated in an earlier post than Evina and maybe couple of other may not be allowed to come back due to somethin happening the last 3 weeks or so. He said Phil would make that call not Kelli!!

From xm radio Reeves and Gordon will be moving on, i`m sure teams will be calling them ASAP, Reeves is hot right now and i`m sure a power 5 conf teams like Louisville in the ACC will be making the call. This will be a blow to lady vol recruiting.

Mistake to let Reeves go unless she was part of the original problem but I trust Phil. What the heck are they going to do with Dean?

I don't know if she will get rid of Dean he has been here forever coached for DeVoe and Pat. He is kind of like the senile Grandfather you just keep putting up with. I much rather have Reeves than any of the others but hopefully we will have Assistants that can get the job done and get these players ready to play every game.

Unless she robbed some kids at a pilot station, I welcome her back with open arms. Even if she did, maybe I take her back, as long as she was joking.

Seriously though, we need everyone on the current roster plus a post defender and some sharp shooters that play tough, smart defense.

I`m not sure what Phil is going to do maybe KJH will talk to her. Also not sure Reeves was part of the original problem. But to me the players need to share part of the blame in this failure. You can`t teach 5 star players how make a layup.

Perhaps saying it’s not her decision to make is not necessarily the right way of putting it, but I think it will be a fairly clear situation of, “You are in or you are out,” after the initial meetings. Things are a mess with some of the roster behind the scenes. It getting to this point is 100% on the previous staff, don’t get me wrong about that. But where it goes from here is very much in question because there are some in the administration that feel a clean start is needed in some areas.

It is not, at this point, a Cooper situation where the university is involved and says they’re not eligible to be students here anymore, not anything like that.

I would think so. But i don`t think Kellie or any of her assistants could recruit they way Reeves can. I pretty sure if the report is true she will be let go her phone will start ringing off the hook. As i said before i`m sure jeff walz would replace Samantha Williams who took the head coahing job at EKU Reeves with no problem you think.

Dean has got to go, I felt he was just as responsible as Holly and he never had any answers either. He was primarily responsible for post play which has been a very weak point for us the last 10 or so years. Johnnie Harris at MSST is the best in the business at developing post players. We need someone like that. She took Tierra McCowan, who was a nothing as a freshmen, and turned her into a Wooden award candidate. Mercedes was a way better player coming out of high school and never improved much and definitely wasn't in the conversation for national awards.

Regarding the staff, as of today, the only person I anticipate back is the director of operations. I believe Heather Irvin will also be reassigned in the athletic department. She worked for Fulmer in recruiting when he was head coach.

I totally agree. Clean house. Out of all the assistants, Dean is the one who MUST go. Our post play sucks. We need an assistant who can develop post players like at Iowa, Baylor, etc.

DP, any word on Horston, or any of the other recruits?

It doesn't look like Westbrook will be back...She was one unhappy camper.

Kellie will have a few fires to put out when she gets here.....She's a big girl, she can do it......Hope so.
