Not to take anything away from Indiana, but I’m going to anyway - they had a cream puff schedule and the one true test they had, they got beat down. And they should have lost to Michigan.

You couldn’t leave them out, but they clearly were not ready for this stage.

Disagree that you couldn’t leave them out. They didn’t earn anything, just benefited from an extraordinarily weak schedule.

Oh Indiana would get destroyed by any of the top six SEC teams, but what about this game would lead you to believe Ole Miss or Alabama would beat Notre Dame with absolute certainty? They are pummeling Indiana, albeit they have settled for field goals a fair amount. Bama and Ole Miss would be capable of beating them, sure. If they played their C or D game, though, this ND team could run either of them out of the stadium.

I agree but struggle to say that they shouldn’t be there - because if they weren’t, then Alabama would likely be in and I really, really love that they aren’t.

Saw Notre Dame against UVA this year. Not great competition, but they looked like a different kind of team. They play fast, disciplined, and hit hard. Going to be a good game against UGA.

The resume Indiana and SMU have really is laughable. I get the "shouldn't let Kentucky beat you at home", "shouldn't have gotten punked by Oklahoma" stuff, but nobody can watch SMU and Indiana and truly believe either is better than Ole Miss or Bama. Don't get me wrong, I am glad Bama isn't in, but I can't tell if it's about the best teams or the most wins. It may not matter for us this year, but it could in the future.

Haven’t read all this yet as I just got off the plane renting Gods country but Ind/ND? About what we expected. Indiana pretty much got dominated. For whatever that’s worth. But t irritates me more that was Penn States big win. We should have been hosting over them.

This isn't about Alabama hate, it's about including pretenders who feasted on pathetic schedules in a joke league that for some reason only Greg Sankey can answer is seen as the equal of the SEC by the national media. It took this embarrassment for these idiots to finally question why Indiana was ever here.

Agree, and the second weekend is f***ked because of the byes given to Boise and ASU. The "committee" couldn't have sabotaged this event any more if that had been their goal.

Maybe the funniest comment all night was McElroy talking about Notre Dame's tough schedule, and the three teams he names are Louisville, Army, and Navy. Wow, what a murderer's row.
