We've identified 2 teams Alabama and Ole Miss...

If Notre Dame beats Georgia, people will make the excuse that it was because Georgia was missing Beck.
You’re probably right but Beck did well enough against Texas so have a counterpoint. Plus, UGA without Beck is probably still as good or better than Bama and Ole Miss. They’re all pretty close though.

Agree, and the second weekend is f***ked because of the byes given to Boise and ASU. The "committee" couldn't have sabotaged this event any more if that had been their goal.
Next year has the same format unless they change things up. That game last night was painful to sit through. Indiana made it close at the end but that game was never in doubt from kick off to final seconds. The speed and size difference was apparent. I think that will be even more apparent when Georgia and Notre dame play bc I’m not sure Notre Dame is even that good either. Georgia lost their QB but they’re still very good at every position

Oh Indiana would get destroyed by any of the top six SEC teams, but what about this game would lead you to believe Ole Miss or Alabama would beat Notre Dame with absolute certainty? They are pummeling Indiana, albeit they have settled for field goals a fair amount. Bama and Ole Miss would be capable of beating them, sure. If they played their C or D game, though, this ND team could run either of them out of the stadium.
When two bad teams play, one can look like a world beater and still be a bad team. ND will look a lot different when they play a top 10 team. Georgia will smash them.

If Boise and ASU get blown out and there isn't a change in the way byes are selected, that would be evidence that something is seriously screwed up with this entire system. I think just the existence of a "committee" making selections has already made that so.

Anyone who pays the slightest attention knew this whole thing was a joke as soon as the "strength of record" garbage was created out of thin air to support Indiana, Penn State, and Notre Dame. And Texas too, for that matter.

I just can't get over how the same national media people banging the table for Indiana, SMU, and Boise are now questioning Indiana's legitimacy and pointing out how easy the draws that Penn State and Texas are, with no sense of irony whatsoever. Like, who couldn't see this coming.

I've posted this before, but just going with the "committee's" final CFP rankings, as f***ked as they are in many ways, it is incredible how much better this event could have been. And we would have hosted a playoff game against ... SMU. Clemson gets the final bid, knocking out Alabama and moving ASU up to #11.. The top four teams get the byes (what a joke to give byes to two CCG losers). But the key is how the event builds toward the second weekend, instead of having two potential duds with Boise and ASU.

1. Oregon (13-0)
2. Georgia (11-2)
3. Texas (11-2)
4. Penn State (11-2)
5. Notre Dame (11-1)
6. Ohio State (10-2)
7. Tennessee (10-2)
8. Indiana (11-1)
9. Boise State (12-1)
10. SMU (11-2)
11. Alabama (9-3)
12. Arizona State (11-2)
16. Clemson (10-3)

Indy looking like hammered dogshit is even better.
It infuriates the Bama anger even more! Couldn’t be happier

The problem is the seeding and byes not the fact that smu, Indiana, etc made it.

ROFL proof that people will bitch no matter what.

Before the playoff expanded people whined about the regular season not mattering and that “3 loss teams will make the playoff!”

Now here we are and some if not most of the same people are complaining that 3 loss teams didn’t make the playoff.

Some of you just like to bitch.

Everyone plays the season but only 12 SEC teams deserve to be in the playoffs.

We all knew Indiana was a joke….. but damn…. They were putrid and had no business being in the playoffs. The committee is obviously B1G biased

I kind of said that with my post. Just seeded 1-12, the 'questionable' teams (aside from Penn State) are either exposed or not on the first weekend, and the event builds to better matchups as it progresses.

And you would be "bitching" if it was UT instead of Bama and Ole Miss that got left out. I don't ever recall "whining" that 3-loss teams would make the playoff, my issue was always teams that played in schiit conferences being treated the same as teams going through the SEC meat grinder. If you have no problem with that and it's only about 'Bama hate' for you, then you're good and should just disregard this discussion.

would beat: Notre Dame and Indiana.

Kiffin/Ole Miss would hang 40 on ND tonight.
Alabama might win or they might field the team that lost to Vandy and Oklahoma and get blown out. They were just too inconsistent to put in the CFP.

Further, I think 3 losses is disqualifying, I would rather see someone else get a shot even if they fail.

Stop making sense. We need an all sec playoff. No other teams exist outside of the sec.

Also it should have 31 seed spots, with Tennessee getting 15 of them (so the Vols results can be most accurate; a loss might not be reflective of how good they truly were that year).

This isn't about Alabama hate, it's about including pretenders who feasted on pathetic schedules in a joke league that for some reason only Greg Sankey can answer is seen as the equal of the SEC by the national media. It took this embarrassment for these idiots to finally question why Indiana was ever here.

I agree completely.

First, they did not get the best 12 teams.

Second, the seeding is absolutely bonkers. Stupid beyond comprehension.
