What’re the chances KC comes back??

Can he make more $ coming back with NIL deals or playing in the G league? I no it wouldn't be good for his NBA development if he stays.
If he stays in the first round he’s gonna get first round money regardless if they send him down to develop. If he were to slip into the second round and maybe sign a two way deal or something then he might make more from the NIL.

So khris Middleton and Siakim.. Those 2 are the only big names. Most of the time the g league is for players who should’ve stayed in college. With money being offered it could alter decisions.
How many more players successfully played in college a couple years had a better career. Compared to the g league where a player can be covered up.
Both avenues have different perks.
You stay in college now you can get paid. You can get exposure, and develop your game. I get what everybody is saying the g league better players more experience.
If the right money is offered a player can be swayed to stay with their college.
I think KC could be someone who breaks the trend.
I think he’s coming back.
I mean I think I would say Rudy Gobert isn’t exactly a nobody either. The G league is also continuing to evolve and getting better. There are pros and cons to each obviously as far as potentially going to g league vs staying in college. However, the only reason Chandler should come back is if it doesn’t look like he will go in the first round.

His projection for the draft is improving; he is now in the teens. He's gone IMO, but I would love to have him here for 1 more year.

How many 6’ and under guards have been drafted Top 3? His ceiling is likely around #10, so with that said a huge part of his decision will be where he is projected come seasons end/Draft combine. Essentially if he’s a guaranteed 1st rounder he’s probably gone, if he slips to 2nd round which seems unlikely then he would likely return. Now if he’s getting projected 20-30 and has a sizeable NIL deal then maybe he considered it, but will all depend on his projection imo.

The Zieg will be back and the inside game should be a big strength of the team next season. We have enough guys back and many of them much better contributors than they were this season. Aidoo, Hatfield, Oke, and Plav look to me to be potentially as good as any post rotation in the league.

So I know everybody thinks/knows KC is gonna go to the NBA after this year and probably be a first round pick. BUT
In my opinion if KC leaves after this year he is a lock for the first round. If he did stay, I see him playing for the first overall pick!! He already has things that you just can’t teach, speed, instincts and a passion for the game that shows in big moments. He comes back next year and the game slows down for him , he cuts down on turnovers ups his assists and scores upwards of 20 ppg. I’m all for players leaving and getting paid bc they’ve earned it, but in this rare case I could see KC staying. He loves his teammates and he loves the game and he wants to learn.
Having this backcourt together with another year of experience under their belts along with this talented group of post players Tennessee would have the potential to be deadly and poised to make a run in the tourney. Not saying they won’t this year BTW.
What do y’all think? Is their a chance we get Kennedy Chandler back for one more year!

Not as much as big NBA money. I expect if he is told he will go early in the first round , then he will kiss everyone he "loves" on this team goodbye.

Yes, 1st round $ are guaranteed. He could be millionaire by next yr. I can't see any rational reason for him to stay IF he will be a 1st rd pick.

To say I don’t understand the nba is kinda extra . I’m just stating for the sake of the argument . Why not?
The nil is offering millions to football players why not offer big money to college basketball player?
Name one player who went to the g league and came out as a star. Nobody.
The g league is for guys who shoulda stayed in college bc they wasn’t ready or foreign players who don’t have access to big time expose of colleges.
Why not stay a extra year and develop your skills and skip the bottomless pit known as the g league .
I mean the nil can pay you. You can gain exposure, you gain confidence and you can play for a championship.
I think the nil if used properly can sway some players to staying an extra year.
Now of course that all goes out the window when they remove that you have to go to college for a year.
NIL is for one year. A 1st round draft choice will get multi years guaranteed, a signing bonus, and the very best training and coaching.

A rookie contract is guaranteed first 2 years but the teams get the option for the third and fourth.
Another thing any player drafted past 15 was looking at 3 mil a year.

The NBA is full of over-hyped one-and-done's, many of whom spend get limited playing time and spend most of their time on the bench.
Nevertheless, if you have a chance to make millions in the draft, you take it and go from there. IMO Chandler has the potential to
a good NBA player. I too think he's got a lot of Chris Paul qualities. Can you imagine: Allan Houston played for the Vols for four years. Those
days are.....ppffffft.

I'd say close to zero because the draft is based on potential and skill. I would love for him to come back though as he is starting to really get a feel for the game.

Imagine him in college for a zbd year 😳

You make very good points sir.
I do think you’re underestimating KC on defense though. Chris Paul is the same height. Very good defensive player. I can see KC developing into a Chris paul type of player.
Do I see Chandler getting 3 blocks a game definitely not. I do see him keeping people in front of him and he has very quick hands.
Most nba players don’t come out of college being dominant scorers either. I think trae young was one of the few exceptions and he scored 27.
College kids just don’t have the consistency or fully developed their offense. Which is why I think one more year would give him more time to strengthen his offensive and defense abilities.

I think you are correct. What I have seen of him, he seems not quite ready for the pros.

I get the money angle.
I suspect KC 'failing' in the draft .... is due to other's rising ... not his stock failing.
Maybe KC is still growing and the NBA will assume that he picks up some more height or maybe they are good with 6'.
Maybe he stays healthy.
Maybe he wants the money.
Maybe he wants to be a top 10 pick like Ford. Maybe he wants to be the next Ford. Or maybe he wants more.
Maybe we win it all and there is no reason for him to stay. Or maybe we get close and he wants to come back and close the deal.
That is a lot of maybes ... but I will close with one more ...maybe KC does not even know what he is going to do at this time!

TJ Ford played at Texas for two years. TJ Ford is mentoring him. So, is there a chance ....????
T.J. Ford helping Kennedy Chandler see the game through the eyes of Rick Barnes

He would be stupid to come back if his evaluation indicates he will be taken in the 1st Round of the draft. I have not heard of an NIL deal that meets or exceeds 1st Round Rookie contract on the NBA CBA salary scale. First 2 years are fully guaranteed per the CBA. The 2021-22 scale is in the attached article, which also explains rookie contracts.
