don't get me wrong I wish we could be 9-0 and win a boring game against an arch rival

but that LSU Alabama game was a huge letdown for the rest of the nation that is not a fan of these two teams

I was the only one of 8 people who could stay up to watch the end of the game. and I wish I would have gone to bed earlier that overtime was terrible...

I will be sooo glad when Saben's rule of terror is over in the SEC... these types of games are his MO

BOTTOM LINE
QB play was not national championship level..many open receives were missed or not seen and when they were open catches were not made

This made the defense look better than it was because they only have to defend one dimension

Do you really think that this game was anywhere as close as interesting as UT UF best games in the 90's...I don't. These teams had QB's and great D's. The games were still realitivly low scoring many times but never no 6-6 bull we saw on sat

UM FSU games in the 80-90s were also much better than the scap we saw last Friday... for exactly the same reason

This LSU BAMA game did not live up to the hype IMO

Thanks for providing yet another line of demarcation that makes a distinction between intelligent fans and those with absolutely no football knowledge.

Big 12 might interest you, but I say thanks, but no thanks, to that crap OSU and KSU displayed last night.

Fantastic throwback type of game. Sometimes it looked as if Majors or Fulmer were calling plays, but the defenses played fantastic. That is what makes the SEC great: Badass Defenses hitting everything in sight.

my jaw dropped several times in the game as i saw safeties hit trent richardson and drop him right at the point of impact.

most of the league doesn't have linebackers that can bring him down and lsu had safeties that were getting him to the ground

I would have rather watched the world series there was much more action...

17-14 would have been OK, but 9-6 for the :biggest game of the decade" is ridiculous

I love a great defensive game and the FSU The U series in the 90's was a perfect example of that, but then the teams at least scored more than 1o points

what about QBs that are worth a darn...making a game interesting...there was 0 of that last night

Maybe you should have watched the OSUjr vs KSU instead.............high scores no defense. I bet you enjoyed the last five mins of the ND vs Michigan game when both d's just stopped playing.

So you are saying it would have been the game of the ages if it was 17-14? If you take all the missed Bama field goals into consideration does that make you feel better. 18-9 is that a better game

We'll they didn't hit them... but whatever....maybe a little bit better...

but the lack of quality QB play makes for boring football in my mind. I like the running game and hard hitting, but I also like a balanced game where the QB does something. JJ had a couple of exciting plays with his feet.. that was it

Dumb thread is dumb.

I'm just saying that payin $800 for a ticket for that game is overpriced

I'm missing the days of Manning and T or even old Camy and Grossman affecting a game with the deep ball..

and sick of Saben's my big guys will knock your guys down style of ball

And now, I said, let me show in a figure how far our nature is enlightened or unenlightened: --Behold! human beings living in a underground den, which has a mouth open towards the light and reaching all along the den; here they have been from their childhood, and have their legs and necks chained so that they cannot move, and can only see before them, being prevented by the chains from turning round their heads. Above and behind them a fire is blazing at a distance, and between the fire and the prisoners there is a raised way; and you will see, if you look, a low wall built along the way, like the screen which marionette players have in front of them, over which they show the puppets.

I see.
And do you see, I said, men passing along the wall carrying all sorts of vessels, and statues and figures of animals made of wood and stone and various materials, which appear over the wall? Some of them are talking, others silent.

You have shown me a strange image, and they are strange prisoners.
Like ourselves, I replied; and they see only their own shadows, or the shadows of one another, which the fire throws on the opposite wall of the cave?

True, he said; how could they see anything but the shadows if they were never allowed to move their heads?

And of the objects which are being carried in like manner they would only see the shadows?

Yes, he said.
And if they were able to converse with one another, would they not suppose that they were naming what was actually before them?

Very true.
And suppose further that the prison had an echo which came from the other side, would they not be sure to fancy when one of the passers-by spoke that the voice which they heard came from the passing shadow?

No question, he replied.
To them, I said, the truth would be literally nothing but the shadows of the images.

That is certain.

Depends on whether you want to watch video game style football or if you like to see two teams slugging it out in the middle of the field. Personally, I sat there amazed watching how both defenses attacked on every play.
