Like others, I never go into a game, no matter how much of an underdog, thinking UT will lose. While the period since 2008 has been agonizing-squared for UT fans, there is always that glimmer of hope that UT will get the job done.
UT should always be competitive. A moral victory is unacceptable.
As far as Oklahoma is concerned, the same is true. I look to a feisty, never-say-die performance from the Vols. Whether or not that turns out to be a "signature win" like SC was last year, remains to be seen.
For a UF fan, the hidden question is how might the outcome affect the October 04 game with UF? If the Vols win against OU, the momentum going into Georgia will be huge.
However, whatever the outcome of those two games, the first biggest game of the year at home is UF and UT is still not in a position to look past anybody. The UF game for the last 25 years has been the biggest or one of the biggest games of the year. Team #118 will be hyped and ready to play. The crowd will be at capacity and the fans will be loud and boisterous. When the Vols get the lead, it will be deafening and will continue to be that way until the game is over and long after the game is over. UT can be the loudest stadium in the SEC. The fans are hungry so the atmosphere will be electric, just like GA and SC last year. Many think the '04 game with UF was the loudest. Might be a few less people in 2014 because the capacity of the stadium is less but the fans are eager for a winner. It has been a long time coming and 2014 is the year to beat Florida! GBO!!
