What are you listening to? Vol 3

It is to you and that's all that should matter. I joined a bluegrass club in Dallas while I was there. We'd meet on Saturdays in Grapevine. Short meeting and then everyone (about 50-100 people) would break off and play. You could wander around from group to group and sit in and play. On every third Sunday evening we'd all get together and jam. And have a cookout. Was great.

You just fiddle around on the guitar, or what?

Used to eat here about once a week. Must go if ever in San Berdoo.

I've been playing for 50 years, so what do you think? Don't play as much as I used to. After posting some of the bluegrass and other stuff, I'd like to pick it up now, but my forefinger on my left hand is being held together with butterfly band aids right now.

I didn't know if you could hold your own on the banjo or mandolin. Hell, even the fiddle coulda been a possibility.

Thought about banjo, but never tried. I could do it if I applied myself. I bought a fiddle and played it for a week. Gave it to my best friend's daughter. She is now a concert violinist. Some can and some can't. I would love to be able to play the fiddle. I played mandolin for a year or so. The same friend's daughter wanted to learn so I gave it to her. She picked it up extremely quickly. Started a bluegrass band.

Haha, I remember hearing the fiddle story. Pretty cool.

I have a few friends who play the banjo. It makes my favorite noise, next to the piano

You know you're old when your idea is an Ultra Dresser

Sly and Broyles probably still want to ride 1100 Hayabusa's though

Hey, I only had one dresser. I'll try to find a pic. My hard drive is a mess of pics. I need to organize it.

I'd love to get an Ultra Classic now, Sly, but enjoying it means 2,000 mile rides, plus about 30 grand. But I'll poke around in my Ford before i buy a sportster or a softie.

Throwing money at a Sporty is a waste unless you're 5'8" and 150 pounds or so. I had one, but it was a cheap deal and a classic. 69 Sporty with a 1200 motor that was blueprinted and dyno out. Bought it of $500. Sold it as a basket case for $1500. I pulled it completely apart and started a rebuild. Guy bought if off my garage floor. I had a soft tail and loved it. At the time I bought it, it was the longest wheel base with the lowest seat position that HD offered. FLSTC was the designation. Ruby Red in color. Bad some itch. Had chrome straight pipe that were boloney cut and sounded like a NASCAR warming up.

I'm youngish for it, I guess, but UC Dresser, hard boxes.

Dad and Moms fiirst bike together was a goldwing, he'd throw me on the seat and chase me around in 1st gear, which really for them was about 25, never got close to that. 20 years later i know that it's about impossible to lay one of those suckers down, which is why he gave me my kicks.

I can't find the pics of the dresser or the Sporty, but here's a pic of the Soft Tail at Daytona for the 50th Bike Week.

One on the back bears a striking resemblance to an old memory. I'd never have that particular bike or wear the Bandidos' colors.

I know, the colors were a joke, her legs, you're a lucky dog, but notsomuch.

Sly, you strike me as a really smart dude who played the game for what you could milk it for, because it was the most prudent path.

Now you're an independently wealthy renegade.:good!:
