What are you listening to?

Musical style is much different but I can hear John Prine a little in his vocal style. Fyi he's playing Ashville. Don't you live there?
I got to talk to him after he opened a show once. Really down to earth guy. Just trying to make a name for himself that's not necessarily associated just because of his dad. But some of his stories during his sets about his dad are funny

Yes I know how to spell it but I've had several vodka tonics so calm down!
It's always fun. I'll be on the phone, giving my address, and I say "I live in... <pause> ...Asheville", because if you don't pause, they hear "I live in Nashville" as the n glides over. When I'm particularly doubtful of their listening skills, I say that I live in Asheville-with-an-E, which really makes them drop back and think about it.

I'm sometimes amazed that we receive any mail at all. ZIP code saves us, I guess.

I live in a place called Pfafftown. I love when people that have my address want to confirm it to me over the phone. They read the number and street just fine. Then there's a long pause and you can almost hear their brains imploding having no idea what to say for this town.

For those wondering it's pronounced Paff

and fwiw, as someone who grew up 40 minutes from Asheville and had Nashville for a state capitol, I always freeze when anyone says either name because I'm afraid I misheard it.

A guy in my dorm at Duke waaaay back when was graced with the last name of Fluck. There wasn't much of anything he could do about that.
