What did you have for dinner II?

I went with a mix of flavors today. A bit of country cooking with corn on the cob and red skin potatoes, a Mediterranean style salad (spinach leaves, cucumber, tomato, balsamic vinaigrette dressing and a shot of lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper), broiled naan bread (olive oil and sea salt), and a flat iron steak that I seared on the grill and then tossed into a crock pot with some Asian chili based marinade. Freaking divine, maybe the best thing I have ever cooked as far as steak goes.

Second time messing with flat iron steak. I had my doubts as I expected it to be kind of tough but both times it has been really great. I think I like it better than a rib eye.

I just fold the naan bread over thin strips of steak and the salad mix. Really good combo!

Oh I made a yogurt mint sauce too but it sucked really hard and everyone said it tasted like Colgate so I tossed it.

I made cilantro and like rice, black beans, steak, and pico. Different version of a steak taco. Didn't do to bad for all homemade. Tasted pretty good.

Yum!

We had frozen cheese ravioli but I made a homemade meat-sauce with Italian sausage.

Garlic and olive oil couscous, spinach from a can, naan bread from the broiler, and grilled chicken thighs. I used a sweet ginger sesame dry rub on the chicken, pretty tasty.

Broiled snapper, navy beans, and slaw.

This reminds me (sort of except it's served in a bowl) of a dish this restaurant in Boynton Beach, FL (Snappers) serves.

It used to be called Halibut Paso Robles. It was a beautiful piece of fish served over white beans with spicy chorizo with fried potato straws piled on top. It was outstanding.

If the restaurant is still open it's worth a try. They may have substituted the fish but back in the day it was Halibut.
