I re-read my post a few times trying to figure out how I was telling you what you think and I couldn't find it. It sounds as if you are attempting to say that you were one of those calling the Tea Party racist (I was not). I was merely pointing out that the Tea Party was called racist by the left but no explanation that actually made sense was ever given.

If you don't think what Eric Holder said is racist than you are a lefty. Let me explain. Very often the left is given a pass when they say racists things. Remember the comments about Obama by Harry Reid? The only reason he didn't have to quit the Senate is because he is a Democrat. The ONLY reason. Remember when Trent Lott said something nice about Strom Thurmond? You do realize that Trent Lott resigned and Harry Reid is the majority leader? Democrats can get away with saying pretty much whatever they want but Republicans have to watch every word. You either get that or you don't. If you don't get it then you are a lefty.

You might want to try rereading my post and then it might hit you what I was saying.

Nothing is as simple as that, but believe me, I get it. You obviously think everything is bladk and white, when it is actually extremely gray.

Holder did not say anything racist. He is responding to a prompt and a quote that the voter intimidation in Philly was "the greatest affront in history," by comparing it to the Civil Rights struggle.

Maybe the Congressman who is trying to challenge Holder should do a better job of selecting which quotes he is going to use to sensationalize the issue???

You guys know as well as I do that if Glenn Beck or Rush or Bush had of made a comment about "my people" while talking about the white race you guys would be going ape chit on here about how conservatives are racist and how they finally slipped up and showed their true colors.

Clearly, Holder was VERY put off by that in comparison to the civil rights struggle of the 1960's. Holder was mad, as any THINKING person would be, at that imbecilic comment.

Holder giving special consideration to the Black Panthers because they are black is pretty offensive too. I think the congressman was attempting to point that out. It's not offensive to you? It should be offensive to everyone. The congressman using a quote comparing it to the civil rights movement is a little over the top but offensive? Really?

This logic is weak. Look at all the war protesters. Where were they when Clinton had us involved in the Balkans? Where are they now that Obama is doing what Bush did - actually even more with the drone attacks? Odd that only a R president would deserve massive protests isn't it? Timing is important here.

The TP folks probably did dislike Bush's debt run up but saw it accelerating even more under Obama. Add to that, the economic downturn that focused more attention on fiscal policy and voila the TP reaches critical mass.

Blaming it on race is simply a way to delegitimize them rather than examine the issues.

You can't seriously be comparing our involvement in the Balkans w/Iraq-Afghanistan. Quite a reach if so. TP's may not all be racists but they DID come out after BO's election. Don't see too many browns or blacks at their rallies. They weren't protesting wars or budgetary issues under GB at all. Saying the TP has nothing to do with race/economic status is naive.

I'll go on the record as saying that racist TP members are a minority. There are other less desirable characteristics of constituents in the TP, including people that are intentionally misleading. The TP has the same problems as all other parties and that's agenda driven 100%.

Hmm I have watched that video about 3 times now and I still don't see what Holder said as racist... in any way shape or form.
However, how in all that is holy did the fact that 814 people in a pretty worthless department of the Gov't is ONLY 14% of the workforce slip by everyone? THAT is what should be generating outrage.
Watched it again and 144 million bucks is ONLY 18% of their budget.... so throw that fact in as well.

I agree 100%. Racism exists on all sides. Seems the MSM used the 'squeaky wheel' theory when covering TP events. I include right leaning media as well when the TP began threatening their powers. An example, both right and left outlets made Rand Paul out to be a kook once he became a serious contender against the status quo. Saw an interview with him last night and this guy seems to seriously get it. If all TP's were like him I'd be at the next rally.
