All hypothetical, I could see Janzen Jackson being moved to the same type of role Berry played in this year if we were able to pull a Dixon or a Dorsey. Both are plenty athletic to role deep at the safety like Janzen did this year. I think Janzen is a great tackler and would be very well suited being moved around on defense like Berry was this year.

Ideally, this would be unnecessary. And it may have been just that if the LB corps hadn't suffered so many massive injuries.

Darren Myles is taking Berrys place. thats gonna be quite a backfield of DM jr. and Jackson roaming the field hunting heads!

Need to find another corner that is not named Art Evans. He is really a weak link.

im not going to lie, i dont like how monte used berry this year. berry was such a hawk when it came tobeing around the ball and making interceptions. when monte moved himfather up close to the line i think it took him out of the plays and moved him away from his true talent of sniffing out coverages. it was almost like he used him as a blitzing lb all year and someone to just plug gaps

I wouldn't question Monte, I think Berry had the talent and the D had the need for that role. We will be better on D if the LBs are serviceable, this will allow the DBs to do their jobs. Imagine JJ if he wasn't the ONLY Safety on the field !!!!! He got burned at times but 1 man can't cover the whole field (that's why you have 2 safeties). Monte had to support the front 7 instead of RELY on them. Next year we should be better on D without Big Dan, Wes, or EB...............in theory:scare:

You are correct in how EB was used this year .

Right on. I hope we can get a full year out if him next year.

We will that was the kind of scare he needed. Im sure MONTE has made him aware if he can just stay clean 2 years then he can make his money

I agree. Ut has some players for the secondary. More time under Monte this off season should help them understand the fundamentals of his defensive scheme.

I'm not sold on Jackson yet. He can lay down a good hit but i've seen him burned 1 too many times this year with only 1 pick. Maybe he'll get better with age and experience but we'll see.

Its so hard to evaluate players because of janzens success as a gfreshmen and Myles lack of. I thought Myles looked slow and lost but he is just a freshmen. A year of training and learning the scheme we will see if he lives up to the hype, I sure hope so
