What do you think our first offense play call will be?

A drop-kick for 3.

Edit: Why should I tell ATM what our most likely/most effective opening play should be? And, yes, they are actually glued to their screens and hanging on my every word. To them: WGWTFA!

I think the first play will be a WR..... I'm really going out on a limb here. I think they will try to get Sampson more involved, I doubt we will see Dee, but I could be wrong.

Based off Squirrel being the only guy that Jimbo knew by name I would think he gets extra attention. So I guess we're going 75 yard bomb to Thornton on the outside.
hope it's not one of deez (again)

I think the first pass will be a screen to Squirrel or Wright.

What ever it is I hope it works and keeps the aTm defensive front on the field for 3 intense minutes so that those big boys are ready to blow chunks.
Does anybody know if Walter Nolen has been effective for more than 3 plays in a row this year? As a high schooler he could play 3 plays in a row without a break.

Didn't they repeal the state law that every run play must be up the middle ? It would be nice to see a run out to the left or right, either by the running back or QB just to mix things up. But to answer the OP question, it will be a run play. Up the middle

Do we start our first drive to try to establish the run and be more run heavy or concentrate more on short pass plays? Does Milton take a deep shot downfield early in the game or does Heupel avoid a possible interception? What would you guys think? Also how does Heupel use Dee on offense if he is on offense?

Bubble screen to the left.

Okay, just for fun and homage to drawing up plays in the dirt...

Iamaleava comes out with Milton and lines up wide as a flanker. Nico comes in motion and swerves behind Milton lined up in shotgun formation. All receivers run deep patterns to draw safety help. Milton takes the snap and turns toward where Nico is running, starts arm motion to pass backward to Nico...
then shovel passes the ball to Wright running away from the motion, off tackle.

Play gains 40 yards.
Crowd breaks the decibel record for Neyland Stadium.
Gary Danielson points to the play as evidence Heupel has lost confidence in Milton's ability to pass downfield.

They will have faith in their strength which is the D front. Their weakness is their secondary so they will be in zone. I’d run play action and hit a slant or if the DBs play well off the line the receiver screen. They will sell out to stop the run and may even blitz a linebacker on the first play which would help the slant. If they can stop us with their front 4 they will play zone the entire game meaning small passes in space with not very many deep passes. We need to force them to play man coverage by running the ball which will expose the weakness of their DBs. We won’t be able to out athlete the line so our tempo and play calling need to be what beats their D line.
