For the 2014 recruiting class? It will send a positive message to all that can see, through news articles, the infamous Bleacher Report, tweets from all around the country, various sports radio broadcasts (The Animal, TSR, etc.), and all of the video's released of the crowd, and the game, and the autograph signings, THE FAN DAY... After all, it's stuctured more towards The Fan, isn't it?

Can you imagine the Ammunition Byron Moore, Jalen Hurd, Vic Wharton, and all others would have if UT FANS broke the attendance record for the Orange and White game?

I say let's go ALL IN!! It is our responsibility to hold up our end of the bargain when it comes to the RETURN of the REAL Tennessee Volunteers, and I will be there, standing tall, with a BIG ORANGE smile on my UT face, because I will Volunteer to do everything I can to push our Vols back to the top, where we belong!

What say you? Will you be there?

The spring game means nothing if we win 4 games next year that is what recruits n bama n Fla etc will use to turn recruits come Jan of 2014 not that we had a record crowd. IMO

This is more of a vol nation thing n coaches n hart want u to be there so they mark off hurdle no 1 convincing big orange nation that we r back... most will wait n see.

I'll be there...just like I am "every" year. I think it shows great support for our players and our program. Of course there will be those that say it's not important....yada yada. Personally I think it's very important and it's a great opportunity for families to come and see the players and program up close. GO VOLS!

That's the way to be supportive! You obviously are on a different "fan" level than many of us! "I think I'll wait and see if we're any good before I take 4hrs out of my Saturday to support my team!" Wow. If you want UT to be a big time program, we should show that we have big time fans!!! Go Vols!

First off, I will be there. I try never to miss an O&W game for 2 reasons: 1.) it's just fun to be in the midst of football in early spring around my favorite team, and 2.) I simply love being in Neyland Stadium.

But, to break the attendance record, we'll almost need to sell it out. Those damn Bammers hold the record, IIRC, selling out the first year they had Saban (around 92K, I think).

I feel like there are still way too many Vol fans out there that either don't care about the O&W game, and/or don't follow recruiting enough to go and watch the game to see what the recruits are capable of in their first couple of years on the team. Additionally, this year's O&W game is not as loaded with young talent as next year's will be. People are pumped about CBJ, but I don't expect anything flashy or attractive to show up at the O&W game this year that would be big enough to draw a crowd of over 30K. JMO.

Well placed sarcasm, good post and as far as "most will wait and see" it just ain't so.....most are as excited as they have been in a few years.

Ignore him. I think he(and all the other "wait and see fans") are only a half step away from a Bama bumper-sticker anyway.

TYPICAL NEGAVOL RESPONSE!!!!!!!! wtf. You showed your "brilliance" with a statement about next year's performance that anyone with a brain knows is true. But, what the negative brain doesn't realize is that a full stadium for the OW game will send all kinds of positive messages to prospects and current players. Winning will seal the deal, but to deny a great OW attendance will help is just plain......"brilliant"?:cray:

As someone who is skeptical about most things that posters say influences recruits, I actually agree with the OP. I think it sends a pretty powerful message to kids that are at least interested in UT or have us in their short list. They will be paying attention, Spring break is over.

Wish I could be there - Tball games on Saturdays in Arkansas don't help that though.

T-ball hates us.

Set the plans in motion yesterday, me +6 will be there. Still a little gun shy, but will always support my Vols. I hope we do break the record, just to one-up Bama.

Over 300,000 showed up for a war, but we can't get 100,000 to show up for a game?(which is essentially a war against Alabama)

Folks need to understand, everything has to start somewhere. Players will be more motivated and practice harder with fan support. Then the games will come. Coaches will work harder to keep a record crowd happy. Once they have it, they dont wanna lose it. jmo

What year did we have that many? I thought the year we had Kiffin we had around 52K and that that was the record?

My understanding is it was the year after the smashing of the Canes in the Sugar Bowl. So, '86-'87? Don't quote me. My memory has had a 50 year razzle dazzle mumbo jumbo scramble chip installed.
