At what point would you consider the CBJ hire a good one?

Already a great hire?
Win 7+ games this year?
Keep a top 5 recruiting class?
Win 9+ games next year?
Win an SEC championship in 4 years?
Beat Bama?
Beat Florida?
Win a National Championship?

other thoughts???

At this point, it is reasonable to believe if he has a 9 win season a top 5 class is a lock.

Win 6 games this season, show progress on the field with NO QUIT in the team for 60 full minutes, with one win being UGA or SC (or better), and NOT lose to UK or Vandy.

Sounds like a lot, but I don't think that's asking too much.

i'd take 7 virgins. no fatties, tho. then, he'd be a good hire.

ok maybe one fattie just cause of EEO requirements

I think it changes year by year. This year, I don't really care what the W-L total is at the end, as far as in my evaluation of Butch is. I want to see us play 4 quarters of competitive football against Oregon, Florida, and Alabama. I want to see us win effectively against the teams we are supposed to. And I want to see a disciplined team that knows what they are supposed to do.

Basically, I want Butch to get us our respect back on the field. We are not respected or feared, nor have we been in the past 3 years.

6 wins, with a bowl, and beat the ever living hell out of Vanderbilt. Run the score up and everything. For year one. I want to beat Florida within the next 3 years.

If you cant already tell he is going to get it done, you need to wipe your eyes. Its pretty clear. Jones has a history of winning. IMO players are the ones that win games and he also seems pretty good at getting them too. Put the two together and it spells success. Get ready for it cause aint no doubt about it.....its coming you sons of BUTCHES!!

Soundly defeat the few teams we will be favored against this coming season.

Be competitive for 4 quarters against the rest.

Put a defense on the field that doesn't look lost, dolesn't take bad angles on every play, swarms to the ball, and knows how to tackle.

B*tch-slap that Vandy coach at midfield after b*tch-slapping the dores.

I just want to see continued improvement through out this season and the team fight the whole game. No quit at all. I think with those two points and the recruiting going the way it's going the rest will fall in line. Hopefully.

Going well so far. Get a top 10 recruiting class this year. Go 8 and 4 next season plus a Bowl Win. I would then consider him to be pretty great.

Get top 15 recruiting class this year. Go 7 and 5 next season plus a Bowl Win. I would then consider him to be pretty good.

Get top 20 recruiting class this year. Go 6 and 6 next season plus a Bowl Win. I would then consider him to be pretty fair.

Win a game after being down at halftime. Dooley had 0-24 record when losing going into the half. This was something that really bothered me because it showed how weak of a motivator he was. When it comes to coaching, being a motivator is one of the top ingredients.

Will know when I see it. Haven' seen it in years, so it will be different from how it's been.

I think these are realistic goals for the season:

Beat: UK, Vandy, all the out of conference games particularly Western Kentucky( Bobby P. will be looking to upset an SEC team), beat the Tigers ( Auburn and Missouri)

Upset: Georgia or South Carolina...preferably both, but it being his first year, I would take the loses here and not hold them against him, as long as we compete for the win.

Don't get blown out vs: Florida, Oregon, And Bama.
