After injuries to the other QBs including Jerry Colquitt against UCLA Manning did become the starter. That year started out rough but we managed to finish the season with 7 wins and then won the bowl game against Notthwestern I believe

Actually, they beat the crap outta Virginia Tech, 49-26, in the Outback Bowl. Finished 8-4.

The 65-0 1994 Vandy beatdown was fun... right after the Vols beat UK 52-0.

That was 117-0 in two games... and the new QB at the helm made me feel the UT football was in the best shape I had ever seen it in. Vandy literally looked like a high school team.


The most proud I've ever been of the Vols team?; 1985 Sugar Bowl; watched on TV, though... but geez, the 1985 Vols were everything you could ever want from a football team.

That was one helluva Miami team they squashed... make no mistake about that.
