Exactly, no one should care. He played his heart out for TN. the kid was tough as nails but was not SEC caliber QB. I hold no ill will toward him but Pruitt should have moved on to Bailey.
His first redshirt wasn’t due to medical reasons which has traditionally cost the athlete an appeal for the second…like our Jerry Colquitt. Maybe that’s changed since Marcus Jackson lost his when he tore his bicep before the season after redshirting the previous to get more playing time his senior season. This is his 6th year. He started the opener against Utah St. and got hurt and then started against Utah on 9/25 where he threw 3 ints, the last one returned 54 yards for a TD to seal the game for Utah.
I don't think he was hurt after that. He only started against Utah because de Laura was hurt. So not sure he qualifies for a medical redshirt.
I'm very surprised he didn't get playing time on Friday because the Cougars were steamrolling my Huskies in a game that continued to get worse in the 2nd Half.
I hate that he never could succeed to be a reliable starting QB for the Volunteers because he's passionate about playing Football, is tough as steel, and he gives 100 percent effort. All reasons why he is an admirable champion even though he never was able to achieve the desired result for the Volunteers which is to be a starting QB in the league of Ainge, Dobbs, etc.
