What has to happen for Tennessee to get into the playoffs now?

We need either Notre Dame to lose, BYU to lose, or Indiana to lose 2. I would imagine even if Ohio state loses to IU they'd still be ahead of us. Let's go Army.

Essentially if BYU loses, Big XII is for sure only getting 1 team in. That might open one up for us. Penn State losing would also probably be enough given their awful schedule.
BYU LOST. 17-13. FWIW.

Who gives a flying F at this point? 2 losses and likely out of the CFP. The Vols controlled their destiny and F’d it up as usual by losing to the POS Bulldawgs.

The Arky loss will probably keep us out. My guess is we will drop to 14 after this loss, BYU also losing, we need to win out. We also need Ole Miss to lose to Florida, Boise to lose and regular season game or their conference championship, A&M to lose to Texas, and ND to lose to Army or USC

All it does is potentially change the one team that was already getting in.
BYU just lost to terrible Kansas. There can only be 1 team from the Big 12 now, correct?

12-1 BYU at large would have really hurt Tennessee. I'd be shocked if an 11-2 BYU gets in (assuming they lose to Colorado in the Big 12 title game). Either way, yes this helps Tennessee.

The biggest thing is gonna be USC beating Notre Dame. If that happens, Tennessee can basically guarantee their spot as long as TAMU has 3 losses

Honestly, I don't care. I think chasing that is completely wrong and will set this team up for a loss out of the remaining games. I want them to focus on improving, win out, and see what happens. The CFP is not set by any means but worrying about it would be focusing on the completely wrong thing.

No. It helps us get in over a 11-2 BYU that loses the Big 12 championship. If BYU was 12-1 and lost the Big 12 championship game it's possible the committee would have them ranked over us at 10-2.

Probably not but they were penciled in as the big 12 champ so whoever would beat them would just swap with them. It’s not like it opens up a spot.

We need either Indiana to get blown out by Ohio State, Notre Dame to lose, or Ole Miss to lose. If any of those happen we can skip them in the rankings. Also Alabama winning out would help. Texas beating A&M is also good for us.

We don't need many things to happen to get into the playoffs. We just need one upset to go our way. Also we need to focus on beating Vandy. That's the most important thing.

This site couldn’t possibly be accurate given the rankings are based on human rankings. At times, there is no rationale behind them. Last week we handle business against Miss State. BYU probably should have lost to a sorry Utah and Indiana held on against a sorry Michigan and they both jumped us. I’d love to see what model could account for such randomness

That calculator isn’t working right. It shows A&M with 2 losses even if they lose to Texas.

It’s starting to feel like if you don’t follow a team that the media loves then your team is screwed. Did they play perfect tonight? Clearly not but it was there for the taking and two big calls absolutely contributed to the loss. Not to mention the fact that BYU and Indiana inexplicably jumped us after we won our game by 19 last week. There is very clear bias and it will ruin the sport.
Almost every fan base is gonna day there is clear bias. There isn’t. Those who say that are trying to make excuses.
