What is our record with Wilcox?

People underestimate what Wilcox did here. Remember, he had Matt Simms throwing the rock for a lot of his time here.

This year, he would have had more size, speed, and athleticism than either of his previous years.

We can't throw out the Dooley factor - we still lost to Mizzou, and we had a two TD lead with less than five minutes left. But I think we are certainly competing for the East if Wilcox stays.

And, if you want the best reason (aside from the record breaking numbers in the L-column) for terminating Dooley it is the fact that the staff he put together to execute "the Process" bailed on him after two years.

The fact is he put that crew together in a week or 2. Do you really think that it was the crew he wanted to "execute the Process" or the best he could get at the time?? Let's be serious man. I'm sure the guy knows more about all this than anyone on here and if able to would have done things differently. Just did what he could with the situation. He was also made to keep some guys already on staff, so let's not be fooled by your "I hate Dooley cause he hadn't turned the s**t hole of a program UT was in fast enough" glasses you have on.

To much out there to know what's true about anything. Did Wilcox leave cause he was jumping ship or did UW want him and he really wanted to get back to the area he is from??? Who knows cause both can be feasible. Did CDD want Sunseri first or just had to hire him for whatever reason?? Both r feasible. Hart could have forced it after Steeles bowl game debacle. Nobody on here knows for sure why Sunsari was hired, but putting it solely on CDD could be a stretch. The move to 3-4 would be his downfall if anything, but mainly cause IMO he made the move thinking that the O was going to be more high scoring. Being confident in it came back and bit him in the butt.

People need to understand that EVERY part of this program was a hot mess when Dooley arrived. Both on and off the field. Things take time to repair and needs to be done in sections. Especially when there are regulations about recruiting and contracts in place. College HCs can't just hire and fire coaches or players at will, so this needs to always be factored in.

Dooley has gone out and gotten some solid coaching hire to replace coaches that left, so your comment about him not doing well replacing them is just foolish and ignorant. Pittman and Graham were solid replacements and they were done in the 2 places that Dooley said last yr would be the main focus and where improvement will be most at this season. And it turned out to be so. When people only talk about negatives and don't give credit where it is due then thier opinions are worthless and they r due no respect IMO.

Dooley decided at the end of last yr that the OL and run game had to be focused on and he did it with of course help from others. Chaney has been on campus for 4seasons now. Now look at where his unit is with stability and the right changes, not total overhauls, but small changes. Now if Bray had that all out competitive fire as a QB then the O could have helped out the D more when struggling. That's what a team does. If one is having problems then the successful part does what it has to above and beyond to pull it off. Doesn't just sit and say ive done so much what else do you want from me??

Our O is pretty stable at the moment, and say "pretty" cause it's had many chances to put games away and it hasn't. The D has played bad but hard. They stopped a fake punt by Florida and then the O goes 3and out (reffereing to another foolish comment you made in a previous post). The D gave the O multiple opportunities to add on pts when we were up 28-21 and put the game away vs Mizzou and it didn't do it. When the worst half of the team steps up and gives it the best part to spike it down the best part of the team needs to do it. Simple. This is the story of the season other than vs Bama, NCst, GASt. Even Troy had the same story, but we won it so is what it is. Which is IMO better than the story of last season which was total debacle and loss in the 2nd half to lead to many blowouts. We haven't had any blow outs this yr. (Bama game could go either way I guess) that's an improvement in my eyes. Heck we took USCjr to the wire in thier house and they blew the doors off of UgA.

GBO!! Let's go bowling baby!!!

Be honest... you have no idea what being a process oriented manager means, do you?

Dooley has not failed because he used a bad process. He failed because he had a very, very narrow window for success and made too many bad judgment calls. He also does not have the gameday ability at this point to win in the SEC. He HAS built to program up from the ashes.

Sunseri was one. Going to the 3-4 was another. IMO, sticking with Bray after repeated chokes and ample demonstration that he didn't manage games well was another.

Wilcox appeared to leave on good terms with Dooley. He was a great hire at the time and will be a quality coach. If I don't miss my guess, he and Sirmon left in part because of fan unrest and the uncertainty it brought. He was probably not offered an extension by Hart so he left on his own terms. It was the safe career move and says absolutely NOTHING about his relationship with Dooley pro or con.

I am fairly confident the other guys were told to look around. It just didn't work out for them at UT.
