Uscjr lost their DC, and best defensive player. They might be good defensively, but they won't be great.
I'm with you there. I hope we stay healthy.

If we can win all of the ones we are supposed to (I'm claiming we should beat Florida) and then steal one from UGA or USC then this season could possibly be a special one.

With UGA there is no telling because something crazy always happens when we play them.
USC is gonna be tough defensively and if Lattimore is healthy they will really test our new defensive scheme.

Either way, if the ball bounces our way, for a change, we could win 10 games...that's what I am hoping for.

GO VOLS!!!

For me it needs to be a nine win regular season and a bowl win. I felt the spring game was compeditive and a good watch; however, there just seemed to be something missing. I am not sure what it was, other than kicking, but I just didn't get that dominate feeling from the team. I still say nine is well within the realm of possibility, and if we reach nine we had to win a couple we weren't supposed to and that is a huge improvement. I just think we may, at this point, have a very noticable drop of from out 1's and 2's.

We should not lose to Fla. Period, they are not good. Ga is over rated as usual. Sc a solid team but there is no way in hell that they are great and a for sure loss. I'm having a hard time figuring out why so much love for GA. Truth is there best player is playing defense too and that's not real smart considering wr/db running all day. This game is very winnable for us. I say par for me is 8 but I think we can as many as 10 really. There is no team in the east we can't beat. All this of course if we stay healthy. Our schedule isn't exactly hard this year.

NC State - W 35-20
GA State - W 50-0
Florida - W 21-14
Akron - W 50-3
@ Georgia - 21-20 WIN Baby on the road
@ Miss State - 28-20 win
Bama - L 28-21 unfortunately
@ USC - Toss up. Not sure about this one yet wanna see LAT first.
Troy - W 42-3
Mizzou - W This one is closer I wanna say 24-21
@ Vandy -W woodshed time 42-14
KT - W Payback this one gets ugly fast. 49-10

This is based on staying healthy but we have a shot in every game this year.

11-1? How mad are you going to be when we're 7-5? Someone needs to get the paddles out and shock you back to reality.

With the schedule we have, I'd say 9 is par.. With the experience we have now and the overall quality of depth we have at most (key word, most) positions, 8 wins is too low for par IMO.

Acceptable losses are:
Bama
UGA

A reasonable loss would be against either SCJr or MS State (or possibly Mizzou depending on how well they adjust to the SEC).

I will say that I don't think an 8-win season would necessarily sink the ship, but it all depends on the severity of the losses (are we competitive or do we get blown out in the 2nd half a-la 2011?) and whether or not there is noticeable improvement throughout the course of the season.

My 2 pennies....GBO!

Exactly. It's how the losses happen. If we win 8 and lose to Bama on a late field goal, well, that would have to be cause for hope. It's being competetive and playing to the end.Kickoff with NCST is huge. Win that comfortably and beat Florida, we are on our way. Lose that game and we probably don't beat UF, then we are in trouble.

Just fyi, fade route has ran his last pattern for me. I don't need your negativity son. You are off my team. Bye bye a$$hole.

Barring some major injuries or any situations that change things, if UT doesn't go 8-4 I think Dooley will be shown the door, though I'll give him a chance at 7-5 if we lose several close ones. 6-6 or worse no question in my mind he's gone.

I expect 7. 8 would be good, anything more than 8 would be amazing. I am afraid of 6 but will not be surprised if thats all we get.

To put it in perspective, six wins means we lose to everybody in the SEC except Vandy and UK, and those are the last two games so fans would be absolutely disgusted and attendance would be abysmal by then. Not even sure Dooley would last till the bowl game in this scenario. Seven wins means we lose to a down UF team-- again-- and probably to Cowbell U. So we'd be 7-5 and below midpack in the SEC, without even playing LSU or Arky. Unacceptable, really, in Year Three.

IIRC, year one with Dooley most predicted 5-7 wins. Year two was more like 6-8. Both were good predictions and I seem to get the feeling on a consensus of 7-9 this year. Sounds about right.

That's not an option. Man up and vote :)

From 5 to 9. I have no idea. Lot of improvements, but still questions. A lot of things can happen and turn it either way quickly. Ask Justin Hunter and his teammates who are also his fans.
Hell, word is that 30 are about to get the boot. We may not win a game.

So make it between 0 and 9 wins.

Just out of curiosity Fade, how many wins do you honestly feel we end up with?

With this schedule and the talent we have in our first 22 men on the field, I say 8 is very achievable..........and that's an honest answer. Most of my negativity is bs....just messin with people.

Yea, Ive been on here long enough to realize that you are smart and you'r fb acumen is actually pretty solid. 8 is my prediction as well but feel we could win 9. Also, with bad luck we could end up w/7.

We have to stay healthy......any injury to Bray, Hunter, or Rogers changes everything.
