What is really going on with Trump's taxes?

I'm asking in general I guess, I don't know. These politicians and political appointees just seem to say **** it, I ain't going. I'm wondering what happens to us. Like zep refuses a subpoena. What happens then?
Depends upon who issues the subpoena. If it's the House, they can vote in committee to hold you in contempt, like they did Eric Holder. If the committee votes to hold you in contempt of Congress, then it goes to a full House vote. From what I understand, it has been almost 100 years since they jailed someone for that. Google it, and you will find out the history, and what can and cannot be done.

Good question dude, I dont know either. BUT..from my being in the government for 20+ years I've learned you can pretty much tell anyone you want to go f##k themselves and there isn't much they can do. I think with the subpoenas we are seeing now there is a question as to why they are being issued. I am thinking its like the cops showing up at your door one day, for no reason, and subpoenaing your computer to search your records for illegally downloaded music, or weird porno, or terrorist stuff, etc, etc. I think libertarians would screech about due process.

Outside of petty political bickering there is zero legal reason to subpoena Trumps taxes in my opinion. Two things come from those records. His income and his tax rate. Both which people want to use against him. They aren't going to show bribes or backdoor deals or any of that sh!t. Its purely political and I think thats why people are saying pound sand poofcakes.

That being said..you and I ignore a subpoena..we are screwed.

Depends on the quality and connections of your attorneyS. I capitalized the S because you will need more than one.

In Tennessee, the judge can issue a witness warrant. The sheriff can be dispatched to haul your ass to court where you get asked why you didn’t listen to the judge when he ordered you to be there the first time.

I imagine federal courts are less courteous based on what I know about them.

You can be held in custody until you agree to testify.

My understanding is congress can do the same.

Another day and another political adversary the Democrats want jailed.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Democrats are lomging for a banana republic here in the US.

Its almost like they need a chant like "lock her up!" or something similar. Idk, that was just off the top of my head.

Congress has to ask the justice department to enforce their subpoenas and orders of contempt, if DOJ refuses as it did when congress held Holder in contempt they can go to court.

My understanding is that they have a sergeant at arms who can make arrests and hold someone in a cell inside the capitol until the person is ready to testify. That’s based on reporting and not an original source.

Steve Cohen and Jason Chaffetz also believe this. I assume they have original sources, having been congressmen.

I think is true but I also think Congress has to issue an inherent (believe that's it) contempt citation in order to give the SOA authority to arrest someone outside of the capitol.

At this point they have to keep up the lies. They want to stretch it to 2020, I don't think Barr will let them do that.

He is also the one the Republicans wouldn't hold a SCOTUS vote for when Obama tried to put him in. Not surprising. All of this will go all the way to the top court and be ruled against.

Here's your 2020 voter suppression.

The judicial branch is the most crooked branch of the government; and when you consider the other two, that's saying a lot. The problem with the judicial branch is that nothing is beyond their grasp and there is no application of checks and balances ... just another layer of "judges" who may or may not decide to take the case and who may or may not decide to overrule. Worse the judicial branch has made the law so complex and so cumbersome that the common person cannot defend himself without a lawyer (and with a complex set of rules) at great expense that often simply means he has no chance to really defend himself against a wealthy powerful opponent.

Then there is "standing" ... something that was used extensively to protect Obama, but somehow anybody has a right to view Trump's finances.

If a judge is of or supports in any way one political party, then he is biased, and that in itself contradicts the very concept of a "judge". In a sense judges are asses ... as in asses and opinions and everybody having one. I'd prefer my life or my future to some type of AI and a machine to a political animal.

Unless congress has an army (which I don't think is in their charter) to back up the sergeant at arms, most of us don't need to worry. Stay out of the capitol and it's unlikely that a figurehead is gonna run you down.
