What is the latest info on recruits and juniors declaring for the draft?

I havent had time to look at much lately. Any good info out there on our recruiting situation? How do the recruits feel about Jones and his staff? Looks like this board says Hunter and Bray will declare eligible for the draft. I'm sure Patterson will, but I thought Hunter and Bray would need another year to really get their stock up to go first round. What are the rumors?

info on recruiting is butch is offering alot of 2 and 3 star players.

Maybe CBJ & his staff know how to coach these 2 & 3 star players up to their potential. I really think this coach knows what he's doing with the staff he has in place so let him do his job. There will be plenty of time later for bashing the coach for the star counts.

Bray- He should go. As someone mentioned, his stock is unlikely to be any higher and could be significantly lower. If he stays, he will have to win the job again in straight up competition in a new system that favors guys with more athleticism than he has... and I seriously doubt Jones will allow his career fortunes to be tanked by Bray's chokes.

Hunter- He may stay as high as some have projected him but if I were an NFL scout looking at his film this year... I don't spend a first day pick on him. His production vs teams with a losing record is twice that of those with a winning record in '12. Just shy of half his yards and catches came against a fairly weak OOC schedule. About 40% of his yardage came against 3 teams- Akron, Ga St, and Troy.

Just watching him, he dropped way too many catchable balls and did not go aggressively after the ball on many occasions. Obviously he may have been trying to protect his NFL future... but if I am a scout that's not what I want to throw big money at. There are too many guys out there with similar skills and production who didn't disappear against the best competition they played.

CP- It probably comes down to grades anyway. He may not have the choice to come back. With some skill development, he could be a top 5 pick after another year. His production in a system focused on getting explosive athletes matched up one on one with defenders would be obscene. OTOH, he can take the money now and be developed in the NFL.

Looks like most sites have CP going high first round. I know he's athletic but his defense recognition and route running seemed suspect at best. I saw him cause at least 3 interceptions by not knowing he was hot. Thought Hunter would be higher than CP, but apparently he's not. Most have him 2nd round.

It's what Patterson does with the ball after he catches it that excites the NFL scouts. Hunter is more of a prototypical rangy receiver with decent speed and hands. What you see is what you get. Patterson creates excitement when he catches the ball. Raw talent that any NFL coach wouldn't mind having. :good!::thumbsup::clapping::clap::lol::shades:

Do you spend your life looking for something to complain about always choosing the negative "nugget" out of the overall context.... or is that just something you do here?

How many 2* players has he offered? I saw one. It was a QB in FL that reportedly runs a sub-4.4 forty. Chances are he won't be a QB at UT or any other SEC school but could become a great RB, DB, or WR.

a 2 star player is just that. they usually don't pan out. something seems a miss though with a guy that runs that fast and is only 2 stars. i would like to see butch roll in some four star recruits, but it seems like most of them are looking away from us. no i just don't sit and complain. i've actually seen some of these kids play in the cincy area and i'm not real sure what he is thinking. sort of like the kid we got from alliance last year. hill was ok but nothing special. i guess i would just like to hear some good news like north committing. would like to just beat vandy in recruiting. honestly just frustrated the way the program looks.

CP's stock will fall when teams realize he has trouble reading defenses, understanding coverages and hot routes. He will still get drafted high because of return ability and pure athleticism.

A team like Minnesota or Green Bay would just plug him in like Harvin and Cobb... You don't need to be the smartest guy on the field if the coaches are creative... Those guys get YAC; CP will as well.

a 2 star could also be because he hasn't gotten much exposure. There is a lot of talent in some smaller schools that don't get recognized like the state championship teams do.

Hunter= 2nd ROund. He should def stay.
CP= 1st rounder. No reason for him to stay at all sadly.
Bray = 3-4 Rounder. Def needs to stay.

I like Patterson but he doesnt seem to be first round material at this time. Way too raw. Needs 1 more year to become a better route runner.

Saw this that may be a bit of good news...

Auburn commit Lemond Johnson considering switch to Tennessee

One major factor in Johnson's potential switch to the Vols is Tennessee's recent hiring of former Auburn assistant Tommy Thigpen, who recruited Johnson for the Tigers.

“It’s a pretty good part of me coming (to Tennessee), just because we talked about once or twice a week,” Johnson said.

Johnson is rated a three-star prospect according to the 247Composite rankings and is ranked the No. 30 safety prospect in the nation.

Hunter has already started talking to agents. I don't believe he can come back now. It's been said that CP has not been going to any classes so It's not looking very promising for him either.

Bray is just nuts and I really hope he leaves. I got tired of his antics a long time ago.

I think we all have to step back and breath. He hss to get some players , right ? Dooley was a virtual lame duck since the UK loss a season ago. There was some hype coming into the last season...but alot of players took a wait and see attitude. Well ...they saw. So the groundwork has not been laid very well for CBJ. He has to get somebody or he will end up with a bunch of walk-ons. What we should hope for is that he snags a few quality recruits ...he is visiting with them too. If he gets alot of quality recruits , he can slash and burn the lowest quality commits ( Saban style scorched earth method) He is not gonna light the earth on fire this season ...the groundwork was not good coming in , the program is not performing well, and he has too little time. The good news is that he is very good at getting the mopst out of his talent.

true but i don't see that getting us many wins, not in the SEC. read on rocky top talk that bradley, campbell and skipper will likely not end up here. to me those are 3 quality guys we need.
