No offense to anyone's parents but why would you care what a bunch of armchair quarterbacks say about your kid on an anonymous message board? Why are you on here? Your son is on the team. He can tell you all you need to know about him or any other player. That being said, your Input is appreciated but you might be weirded out by all the strange folks on here.

For the same reason your on here. Its a free board to keep up with the Vols. If you dont like them being here I here the Generals Quarters have a few open spots....

You are not a Vol fan so why are you judging him, You are a nosey LSU fan. Why are you on here? Stick with LSU boards.

First off, I want to welcome your son to TN and thank him for choosing us. We are a storied program that has had some very tough times lately and are finally getting back to the top again. Your son is a part of that turn around.

Secondly, I'd like to state that many of us on here are old enough to remember the days when we dominated and we need a break out running back which we have lacked lately. Because of this there is alot of extra pressure placed on your sons position by fans because not only do we need one but your son came in wuth high hopes.

Thirdly, there are people on here who will pretend to be fans who really aren't and there are people on here who arent even fans. Your son will be held up like a king when he does great things and he will be trampled on here when he does something dumb or makes a freshman mistake. It's just the nature of the beast on here because people can say anything and no one knows who they are.

But the reality is if your son does become a great back he will be judge not only here but by media guys and for a very long time if he goes to the NFL. Your son is no longer your little boy and in many ways you are not going to be able to protect him. He is a player in the SEC and the conference is crazy. If he becomes a starter and a great player it will only get worse. There are people who are going to raise your son up only to bash him the first mistake he gets. So take it with a grain of salt. The world is full of morons.

Lastly, I wish your son the best of luck. He ends up starting here chances are he will make it to the NFL. Good luck.

And go Vols!

Of course it's people's business. All Vol fans have the right to critique him. Your son is playing for a major university now, this isn't high school anymore. You and your son better get thicker skin quick or it won't end up pretty.

BTW, you have to admit, he did NOT look good in that drill.

Ellis, just go away. You bring nothing to this board, other than a weird obsession with Bourque. As for the actual UT fans on this board.... DB is gonna be one hell of a Volunteer, just give him some time.

Wow didn't think anyone would miss my point this badly. Guess I should have expected as much. I wasn't criticizing anyone's parents for being on here, just legitimately curious as to why a player's parent would want to be on here instead of getting info directly from their son who is on the team.

Words are lost in translation. I understood your point and feel the same way. This is big boy football and the fans express raw feelings here. Good and bad. Parents who are not familiar should be warned. people say things behind a keyboard that they would otherwise keep to themselves.

I partly agree with this. Fans have the right to critique players on the team. Most of that criticism is unfounded in this case. The kid messed up a drill on his second practice ever in college. Big deal. Isn't an indicator of anything. That being said, people shouldnt have to tip toe around because someones parents are supposedly on volnation. This is a free board, as in free to be an idiot and make off the cuff remarks about players. If parents are going to freak out about what's being said about their son, that's their right, just as its anyone's right to say what they want about their son, be it dickish or complimentary.

Please ignore this guy. Unfortunately anybody can sign up online and make ridiculous comments.

We are thrilled to have him as a Vol and can not wait to see him in Orange!

I hope Ms. Borque realizes that there are ALOT of "trolls" (other teams fans) on these boards that like to stir things up. At the same time, we (Vols) , like all SEC schools, have our share of "know-it-all" fans that hide behind a keyboard and are really brave as long as they are behind their keyboards. I appreciate Devante signing with Tennessee and look forward to his career as a Vol. First and foremost, I hope he came to UT for an education realizing that Jay Graham can coach him up and provide him an opportunity to get to the NFL if that is his goal.

To mrs borque, reading a message board probably isnt the best thing for your sanity. Just like any other UT player, your son will be praised and critiqued. If you cant live with that id say you should just abstain from reading threads about him.

It is no one's business. How can people judge him on a drill. WOW. Is this what it is like to be a Vol. Signed Bourque's Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look; I think it’s great that someone gets on here and throws a Zinger at some of these idiots that sits behind their Key board and to think what they say doesn’t HURT some feelings. I’m sorry your son was affected by some Idiot playing coach, I try to leave that to the coaches but some on here think they KNOW MORE. <Unfortunately it will not change things on this board.>

Your son is in very good hands with CDD and CJG, they understand the dynamites of SEC and large college antics, and from my view very good father figures for your son.

Fare or not fare this is reality of life everywhere because insults and deformation of character seems to be the growing norm in the USA sadly.

Please know that all REAL VOLS for life fans will welcome your son back to the team, drills are just drills. They are meant to be learned and we are not going to be successful at all of them until your son has time to practice, I hope your sons mental toughness will show as he returns to the team, knowing he is bigger than any poster >> that could possibly be a fan from another SEC team<< Dont be fooled - that like to stir things up.

Welcome home to UT D. Borque, YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!! GO VOLS

I can't believe some of the posters on VN these days. Some of the most disrespectful, over dramatic, ignorant things I've seen on the internet have been in this thread.

He messed up on a drill on his first day of college practice. Big freaking deal. If I had been judged that way by my bosses, I would have been fired my first day of my career.

Whomever said things would change if we had to have our name attached to these comments, you better believe those idiots wouldn't say this stuff.

I feel bad for Freak and the mods - this board has been around a long time and has been amazing. But the last year or two, it's gotten absolutely ridiculous.

Dude, what are you talking about with all this "when he comes back to the team" and "I'm sure the team will welcome him back?

Edit: nm I see you don't understand the dynamites of a college program. And I hope you don't take this as a deformation of your character.

V-IN-M; Well sorry some of the points was lost when you read this post, let me explain. It wasnt his team mates that was running there mouth on VolNation, it was the posters on here that was mentioning things that the family took personal.

When I said he would be welcome back, my thoughts was the UT Fans.

And no I dont take your post asking for more information to understand my post, hopefully we are somewhat friends on this board, at least my simple mind would think since we bleed orange we would be able to agree or agree to disagree. Cheers from Tennessee

The media presses for practice videos and it steals the opportunity for these young players to grow up without the glaring eye of public consumption.

Hellz YEAH. He's just butthurt that your son discarded his team like a used napkin.

And remember, most of the 'fans' downing your son arent actually UT fans, but guys like this LSU gumbie using alternate USERID's.

Your son is gonna be great here, if he sticks with it and works hard. The sky's the limit. So, Welcome to Big Orange nation!

Kind of like believing what Fox News and the rest of them say..

Keep this crap on the politics board, Obama voter.
