What is the Mood of the VolNation now?

No different than a month ago. I just want Dooley gone and if Hart can't take care of that, then he can pack his bags and roll his a$$ on back to Bama.

I feel like I'm living the dream in Midland, Texas. Have a great job and always look forward to my trips back to Tennessee. I'm known at Greentree CC for being the guy that always wears orange. I'm still proud to be from Tennesse and proud to be a graduate of the Univ of Tennessee.

I guess I'd be all caught up in this if I didn't have better and more important things to worry about.

Flame away..

Below is what I said on another post....

Perhaps I might be a little out of order here, but here's my inexperienced take. The Vol FB program was once looked upon as one of the strongest and toughest in the SEC. Since their last championship game back in the late 90's when my church member Al Wilson played for them, the program started slipping downward under Coach Fulmer. Then in comes that flipping Kiffen and bam, we're in NCAA violations, and other negative stuff that also plays in the head of the players on the field. Now comes Coach Dooley and the program is still slipping. While under him there may be some improvements, the ones that count still aren't there.... SEC Wins!!!!! We need a coach who can come into this program with the "I'm-not-scared-of-those-Bamas (sorry ya'll lost that #1 spot :clapping: ), Gators, Bulldogs, Gamecocks... whatever" guts to mold and shape our guys into a mean fighting machine that takes the field and become a explosive force against their opponent! Now I believe we have players on our team now that are willing to do that but they've got to have a coach who's willing to drive them and believe himself. After Saturday, I saw no coaching drive. Winning against non-ranked team don't garner recognition. It's how we do against our SEC opponents. Whoever the next coach is, I hope they're someone who will get in there and "drive" the team. Just my opinion.

I really do hope the boosters (BIG $$$$$) makes the call on the new coach. Hart not talking worries me. He does need to come out and say something.

Hart is too busy finding new ways to spend his $750K annual salary to speak to fans.

I don't get the vibe at all that Hart told Dooley he still has a chance. All he said is you're not fired yet.

I don't think there is anything Dooley can do to save his job at this point. That chance went away against Missouri.

I feel like my balls have been in a vise and the person who is trying to get them out doesnt know which way to turn the handle

Excellent metaphor. I feel like I just want this season over with and Dooley gone to see where we go from here. If Dooley stays, I am done

I feel very distant and removed from my school and my team. Somehow our administration and AD seem to handle things differently than most every other D1 school when it comes to handling similar situations as ours. That leaves me feeling confused and slightly betrayed. Excuse me now as I go sit in a dark room and listen to Rocky Top backwards.

The mood of VolNation is pretty sad.
Lots of complaining about coaching and posting of the bad records we have set.
But very little actual football X & O talk. Seems like the football guys have vanished and have been replaced by a horde of whining *****es. Sad place indeed.

I'm trying this apathy / indifference thing, by telling myself my family and career are going well, and that I place too much importance on UT football

It sounds good in theory, but it's not working - more than anything I'm disgusted - at myself for watching, following and caring, and with the administration and powers that be for allowing my alma mater to sink this low

Yeah, "disgusted" about covers it

Threads about hoping we lose and talk of not going to games are just pathetic. Threads about being ashamed to wear Vols gear are too. If Gruden does not come here we have a HUGE amount of posters who may be too far gone to reel back in.
Sad indeed.

pretty much my sentiments. No school in the SEC would even give it a thought to keep a coach with Dooley's record. We are now the laughung stock of the SEC 1-7 last year and 0-6 this year would get any coach canned, especially one with Dooley's resume. So the question is wtf are we waiting on.

angry, depressed, puzzled, frustrated. On a local sports talk show today , TODAY, there were still people defending Doolittle. I just dont understand it. Its like a drunk, Delta pilot crashes a plane with 40 people killed, he survives ( they find maryjane in his blood , along with ther alcohol) AND delta says " give the boy one more chance cause hes soooo nice. '' It makes me sick and I will boycott each game as long as DD is the HC. I not even gonna watch it on TV or the playback. I may complain to my bank cause they help sponsor this bozo. Didwe hire a youth minister for our church or a FB coach? Is being nice a good enough reason to keep a job where you are completely inept? I think not.

Problem is, I heard he is a real d***. Tries to be like his surrogate daddy Satan, but he doesn't have enough cred to pull it off.
Anybody who would defend this tard is on the low end of the IQ spectrum. Probably runs around saying "Dooooley!," "I love tater tots!," and "Frank n beans!" while drooling all over the floor.
