1. Jason Witten out running the entire Michigan secondary in a 2001 Citrus blowout.
2. E.Westmoreland almost decapitating a Vandy Runningback on a screen pass in 98. (40-0)
3. Of course the Arkansas fumble, followed by "The Drive" by Travis Henry! The man wasnt going to be stopped until he put it in the checkerboards!
The screen pass to KW against Michigan was boss too. That was a shame for us to not face Miami that year for the title.

Wait a minute....

What about Manning's QB keeper around left tackle for a score against Alabama in 1997? The entire stadium, Alabama team, tv crew were ALL faked out. Manning said later he decided to pull the ball from the RB and bootleg it around for a TD.

Incredible memories. My days with the Vols goes back to '74

1) Screen pass to Aaron Hayden against Notre Dame that went for a touchdown in '91. It was the perfect call.

2) Carl Pickens torching a Auburn defense back in Neyland in 1991 (I think it was '91). Defensive back had talked all kinds of smack before the game.

3) Bill Duff stuffing Eddie George on the goal line in the Citrus Bowl. You could see Bill Duff's head bobbing before the play as he was yelling at the Oline of Ohio State, and he backed it up.

The Manning TD in '96 against UGA when he was stuffed, rolled to his right and threw a TD. I was in that endzone. Outstanding play.

The interception by Dale Jones in the 1985 Bama game is one of the best plays you'll ever see.

Chuck Webb's performance in 1990 Cotton Bowl was something else. Outstanding.

1. Jackie Walker hitting Penn State'sJohn Huffnagel causing a fumble which Conrad Graham caught out of the air and outran Franco Harris =80 yds for UT's first TD in the rout of Penn State in 1970

2. Dewayne Goodrich's INT vs Fla State in the 1999 Fiesta Bowl. 54 yds to pay dirt and a 14-0 lead

3. Von Reeves on a tight end around pass to Carl Pickens in 1990 rout of the Gators 45-3 at Neyland.

4. Peyton Manning to Joey Kent on play number one in Birmingham 1995.

5. Jeff Powell 60 yd TD vs Miami in the 1986 Sugar Bowl

6. Johnnie Jones races 64 yds into the hearts of Big Orange fans everywhere with late TD run vs Bama in 1983.

7. 1982, Tennessee vs Bama in Neyland. Pass is tipped and intercepted by Mike Terry and the crowd goes BEE-serk.

There are plenty more but these come to mind right away.

I have alot of memories of UT football but its hard to imagine all 3 not coming from the 98 NC Season!

#3-Cooper Collins misses FG in OT, Streak is Over!

#2-Stoerner stumbles and fumbles, Tennessee wins!

#1-Tee Martin kneels down, National Champions clad in Orange!

I know my #1 may be a little different but I can remember the joy, relief, happiness, excitement, and euphoric feeling that overcame me as I realized we had won it all!

I was 18 during the 98 season. I have very fond memories of the whole season. I listened to every game. I invariably listen to every game whether I watch or not btw. But I loved John Ward`s" quote,And the National Champions are clad in Orange. I remember Keith Jackson commenting on a rising waning gibbous moon that appeared Tennessee Orange. I relished every second of that season. I only wish we could`ve beat Bammer twice, but they sucked so bad Miss. St. was SEC West Champs. That was UT football. Run,run,run,play-action bomb, and relying on D to hold a lead. We will have better teams, but whether the stars will align for a Tennessee NC soon is irrelevant to me. I only want to beat bammer! I live for UT-UA. I hope we can wear Orange in Tuscaloosa. Nothing is like the clash of crimson and Big Orange on a Saturday in October. I`d have to say that the Tennessee-Bama game from 2003 was probably the 1# game in UT history.

Tee's bomb to Price was pretty good, as was the Goodrich pick! Stoerner takes the cake, though. Good times...

It was an exciting game but no way UT beating a 2-5 Bama team should rank as the #1 game in UT history.

For all you youngins that may not have been born or too young to remember, the Darren Miller int return against Iowa in the Kickoff Classic in 1987 was outstanding. It was 96 or 97 yards.

It took Darren Miller about 30 seconds to cover the length of the field but he had several DBs (including Terry McDaniel) buzzing around him picking off the Iowa players as they ran after him.

What about the game sealing runs by Jay Graham 2 years in a row against Alabama? Wow, both clutch runs and he kicked in the afterburners.

What about Peyton to Jermaine Copeland vs Alabama. Peyton tries for the QB keeper, steps back, scrambles to his right and hits Jermaine as he is near the endzone sideline.

I know he did that against UGA in 1996. I'm trying to recall the Bama one.

Boca! We are talkin TENNESSEE AND ALABAMA! Record smecord! There is only 1 record that counts:the final score! That game was classic. It`s one of my faves. UT BAMA just eclipses all other games,by far,to me. If you had as much family from Bama as I do,and lived there as much as I have, you may understand. Go Vols!

1. Martin to Peerless Price in the NC.
2. Game winning field goal against Florida in 2004.
3. Clint Stoerner's "stumble and fumble". Neyland Stadium went into bedlam on that one.

I promise, I understand. I would just rank '82, '84, '85, & '95 above the '03 game simply because Bama was so bad.

How many of you remember the last time we SHUT OUT Alabama? In 1970, we beat them 24-0 and recorded a then-NCAA single-game record of 8 interceptions. See Tennessee-Alabama: The Third Saturday's 10 Greatest Moments | Bleacher Report. That defense, and the 1971 team, set single-season records which stand to this day in the following categories:

MOST OPPONENTS’ TURNOVERS
57—Tennessee, 1970 (21 fumbles recovered, 36 interceptions)

MOST YARDS GAINED ON INTERCEPTION RETURNS
782—Tennessee, 1971 (25 interceptions)

HIGHEST AVERAGE PER INTERCEPTION RETURN
(Min. 10-14 ints.) 36.3—Oregon St., 1959 (12 for 436)
(Min. 15 ints.) 31.3—Tennessee, 1971 (25 for 782)

MOST TOUCHDOWNS ON INTERCEPTION RETURNS
7—Tennessee, 1971 (25 interceptions; 287 pass attempts against)

See p. 17 of http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_records/2012/fbs.pdf

In those years, we were turning out All-American linebackers and defensive backs left and right.
