When you lose matters.. also Penn State played a slightly tougher schedule they have played 2 ranked teams. They also started out ranked high. Indiana literally played no one except for OSU and came from nowhere. Having a name helps in voters minds. They are used to voting for PSU and like it or not teams of a certain level (UT is actually in that group of teams) are likely to get the benefit of the doubt over the 'others'. Indiana had literally never won 10 games before this year EVER. This will be the 14th time in 126 years they have been to a bowl. Thats like once a decade. Both Indiana and Penn State have only 1 loss ans they did not play. Why is Penn State going over Indiana? They both lost to Ohio State. Do you know the B1G tiebreaker scenario?

They have same conf record and never played reach other so it would come down to tiebreakers. In this case it will come down the the records of the opponents they had in common... so whichever one played the teams in conference with the best records... aka Penn State. Indiana has literally played all the bottom teams in the big10.. Penn state played some slightly less terrible teams. Don't get me wrong they both had cakewalk schedules. Indiana just had more frosting on their cupcakes. it came down to the 4th tiebreaker. They never met head to head, they both lost to the same team, they both had wins against all other teams they faced in common so it goes to Cumulative conference winning percentageAnnouncers said Penn State is going. However, Conf Champ Games are not decided based on National Rankings but Conf Record.
Clemson gets to the championship, but the models say they don’t go to the playoff with the SC loss and another loss to SMU (if they lose).Looks like ND is gonna win. Still some things could happen but not looking good for hosting. Miami probably gonna drop out of the picture If they lose, but Clemson gets in with a win, so kind of a wash. I don't see them dropping OSU below us. Maybe UGA gets beat next week and they drop below us but wouldn't hold my breath on that. Kind of need TX to win tonight if that's the case. If A&M wins and then wins next week they may keep TX in with 2 losses.
Miami doesn’t really impact Tennessee. The ACC champ will be in the top four regardless of who it is. The only caveat would be if Clemson won the ACC, then the B12 champ might sneak in to the top four. Two things to look at, Miami and Syracuse are in the third quarter tied at 28. Oops Syracuse now leads 35-28. One minute 47 seconds left in the third quarter. Go Orangemen.
ND vs USCw 28-21 ND in the 3rd USC driving.
