Just got back from Panama City Beach.
It is such a desert south of Birmingham and Montgomery. Bad place to need a soda and a restroom. There should be last chance (last public restroom for 40 miles) signs between towns on major 4 lane highways.

I don’t dislike him and can see his potential, but the huge money is the elephant in the room that changes everything. If not for the crazy NIL fans would be much more patient and sympathetic. It is what it is and no amount of cliches changes it.

So, the players, though of a higher quality recruit rating than before NIL, are basically the same, but we as fans have altered our expectations. Shame on us for putting an unattainable burden upon these young folks upon whom we place our unrealistic dreams.

On Alabama's current trajectory, I don't know how DeBoer can have the confidence of the administration for a second year. The best predictor of future success is past success. The best predictor of improvement is past improvement. I can't think of any phase of the game I'd call an improvement from week 1 to week 7. On the contrary, I think this team looks worse in almost all ways. If that continues through the end of the season, Alabama will be sneak into a bowl game. This team sneaking into a bowl game would be catastrophic.

Our players are clearly bought into their coaching staff.

I did not get that sense about Alabama’s players.

I absolutely realize that he’s a RS Freshman with less than 10 starts. And I would bet that the majority of the fan base see it, too, and are willing to show some patience.

I don’t care about the NIL. If a kid gets paid, good for them. It’s not my money.

UF QB is a 19 y.o. true freshman with fewer weapons than Nico and has a higher QB rating. So, should we not expect more of Nico?

I think it's more the hype than the money. Several prominent bloggers and podcasters were touting Nico as a Heisman candidate. IMO, that, more than anything, fueled unrealistic expectations. My expectations were not so high, but I expected much better than what we've seen so far.

Saban can't intimidate refs any more. First time in 20 years that the calls indisputably favored the Vols.
