Holtz won 8 games in 2000 after winning 1 in 99, then 9 in 2001.

He could coach. He could not recruit a solid foundation of talent in Columbia, but who has, besides Spurrier for a few years.
Only Spurrier had better back to back seasons in Gamecocks history than Holtz's 2000-2001.

South Carolina Gamecocks School History

One conference title in 1969 (admittedly, they were an independent for quite some time before joining the SEC), no natties, basically a .500 program. They're basically North Carolina State. Illinois. A history of mediocrity with an occasional good but not great team. We were 19-2-2 against them before Spurrier got there in 2005, and then they picked up a few wins while UT was lost in the wilderness in the 2010s. They're meaningless.

I believe Bob Dylan is getting those royalty checks.
I wondered about this so I looked it up.

Dylan wrote the chorus. Old Crow wrote the verses 25 years later and were the first to actually preform it in any significant way. Dylan actually credits some old blues singers for parts of it.

The rights checks are split 50/50 between Dylan and Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show.

They were down something like 7 O-linemen and their run game has been terrible. It was honestly closer than it should've been. If they don't have Mario Anderson and Trey Knox, it's a blowout.

I think that's the 2nd worst SEC team we'll face this year, though, so I don't want to read too much into it for us either. A&M is going to be a much tougher game. And the games @ Kentucky and @ Mizzou will also be tougher.

Rattler has been averaging ~350 yards per game. I suspect he will get closer to the mean most of the rest of the season and they will beat some teams that we think they won't. Five games in and I'm still not buying some of these records. I think they might beat Florida in two weeks.

I didn’t like it last year either, but we pretty much did the same thing to Missouri the week before. Hopefully Heup learned from that last year. I’m sure Beamer learned a little something last night too.

Against Missouri we weren't throwing with our 1st team QB with two minutes remaining after the other team sustained a major injury.

Good Lord..of all the people in SC to dislike, I just can't see this one. He actually went to college at SCar, why wouldn't he be a fan? Some people like his music, some don't. To each their own I guess. If I'm choosing somebody to dislike from SC, I'm going with Beamer, or Rattler, or Lindsey Graham.
No offense Ma Rucker. It was just a joke.

Two years in a row they made season ending injuries to two of our key players but we're the dirty program??
Coming from the ones who were constantly going low and hitting our guys in the knees and lower legs screw the dirty playing cocks

It’s late, I just got back from the game. I’m starting this thread now and I’ll finish after some much needed sleep.

-We need to go hire a drill Sargent from Fort Jackson to make these guys mean machines. Enough with the love.

-I knew this was gonna happen. Now we are only gonna win 2 more games. So sick of this ****.

-the coaching is absolutely awful. Every facet of the game.

-Top too bottom down to the strength coach . We’ve been out coached all year long .

-How does Tennessee just show up and be a completely different team?

-Spencer overstayed his welcome and now we’re paying for it.

-I am pissed, can’t believe we got clowned
by freakin Tennessee.

-Did yall hear the Tennessee fanbase chant F U to Spencer and Beamer.
What is their main forum ?

Disagree. Rattler can freakin play. Played really good against UGA until the pups woke up. His OL is absolutely atrocious. And he is missing his best WR. Not trying to take up for him but thinking that Rattler is the problem is weird. Was he the problem when they throttled us and beat Clemson?
Rattler and their FG kicker looked elite, minus 1 throw. They are screwed in the trenches. Gonna be a long DooleyButchPruitt style year for them.

As much as I hate FU, I'd be OK with that.

For me it's less about dislike as much as we lost to a mediocre football team. Their victory over us will probably look less like the norm against decent competition. They are more like the team we saw in the 2nd half against us, and the team vs Utah and Kentucky. The calls against us in the 2nd half and the non-calls snuffed out any comeback chance we had.

Yeah, I was not a fan of that MO score run up last year. Dude we dismantled them the year before at home. Fun to watch Joe throw those bombs tho ... I was upper deck end zone and the 65 yard in the air one was literally level with my seats ½ way up upper deck it seemed.

Nice win, can’t stand Gamecocks. Not looking forward to the Texas A&M game in two weeks. I think we get steam rolled hope I’m wrong . GBO!!!

Beamer Ball might know special teams & trick plays but he’s a dumbass otherwise. The pass on the pick six with 50 secs left on 3rd & 17 might be the stupidest call I’ve seen in years.

They are taking this loss really hard. Just talked my sc friend off the ledge. We walked in their shoes for a long time but thankfully we seem to be heading in the right direction. They are still walking in their sad shoes and probably will be for a very long time to come.

I’m not quite ready to write the drumsticks off as complete trash yet. They ain’t good, but their 3 losses are all to good teams. UGA and North Cackalacky didn’t pull away til late either; so far our game is the only one where it never really looked like they had a shot.
