Just hard to say. I think they're the best opponent UT has faced. Most games are won on the LOS but this one seems especially so. I watched some of their Mizzou game. Mizzou's DL gave them fits. They took away the run and forced them out of their game plan. If Mizzou had a decent O, they probably would have won. Of course UGA probably didn't take them as serious as they should have.

I'm honestly not sure they have a talent advantage at all. They simply have higher recruiting classes. And those two things don't always correlate. 2019 LSU had less talent on paper than Bama and Georgia and yet still beat both teams including a blowout of Georgia. I made the mistake of thinking Georgia would beat them that year because of this perceived talent advantage based on better recruiting classes.

Sometimes you just need to use the eye test instead of numbers. And my eyes tell me we got as much talent as anybody out there.

-Can UGA keep them under 21? If yes, we win.

-We are going to hammer them.

-UT looks good..whether we like it or not

-I feel good about our offense… but our D has to get a pass rush! I’m very curious to see our gameplan.. does Kirby shorten the game and play a bend don’t break on D.. but that can backfire quickly with a couple big plays..
If ringo doesn’t stop leaping too early for pbu we’re gonna get cooked deep

-We will need to score 40+, Can’t have ridiculous turnovers, And Stetson will need to outplay the way he has the last several weeks

-Stetson needs to take the passes that are there, not try to make the ESPN highlights. The athletes are there to do more when the catch it, he needs to be more careful with the ball and our possessions in general.

-Dawgs win and cover. Staff will have them ready.

-UT getting all this hype for beating Kentucky, another trash team they’ve played.

-This game is impossible to predict. Need to start STRONG and FAST, otherwise UT could put up 50+ on us. Can see it being very close, and I can also see this being a blowout on either side. Tough one

-We should score TDs on most possessions. Their D is atrocious.

-Tennessee is overrated. Kentucky sucks. It’s two JV teams.

-We will skull drag Tennessee, we’re the only elite team in the country.

-Sanford crowd will be the x-factor. Tennessee is very good. But Georgia is better.

-Sanford is about to break the Neyland decibel record next week. Dawgs by 17!

-It's epic if we win. If we play like we played against Florida it will be a nightmare.

-This love fest for Tennessee is sickening. The most overrated team in cfb history!

I also scanned DawgRant, but it seemed like everyone was pretty level headed over there for the most part.

Still the most arrogant fan base in CFB, and why not, they’re No 1 and the defending champs. I hope we humiliate them Saturday.

The most telling thing for me, personally (side note, I'm originally from Cartersville, GA)

- my big sister is a UGA fan (her nephew by marriage is Dan Jackson, the safety that got injured last week)
- my youngest brother is a UGA fan
- my best friend in the world is a UGA fan

Every other year, they would have been chirping non-stop at me by this point about how UGA is gonna run us out of the stadium and Tennessee shouldn't even show up.




This year.......crickets. Vols 41, UGA 31.

Former Tennessee athletic director Bob Woodruff tried to hire Vince Dooley when he was an assistant at Auburn.

If he had succeeded, Doug Dickey and Johnny Majors and Bill Battle would have coached elsewhere.

I had a long drive yesterday and made the poor decision to listen to a UGA football podcast. It was painful to listen to. They think Oregon is probably better than UT. They were post-game reporting the UF game and watching UT UK. At the start of the UK game they were saying UK would likely win because they were the better team. By the time it got to 30-6 they were saying that game doesn't tell much because UK is no good. Lol.

What’s wild is I’m still seeing crap like wait until Tennessee plays someone in a lot of places (I was on LSU’s board seeing how they feel about their upcoming Bama match and saw this still). Respect for us is given incredibly grudgingly by other fanbases. Nobody wants the dragon on Rocky Top to truly have tooth and flame, and they all want it to stay sleeping.

Same with the UGA podcast I was listening to. They said UT hasn't played in a hostile road environment yet. They went over our schedule so far and skipped over the LSU game. Didn't even mention it. They kept pointing to Pitt being close as an indicator of how we aren't that good. Never brought up the Mizzou game at all.

Also I was reading where if we was to lose, we would be outta the playoff picture, but get this. If Georgia was to lose they could still end up in the playoffs.. so what’s this about Alabama,Georgia, and Ohio state getting this free passes man?? I’m sick of it, it’s time for some new blood to be on top of the mountain and the vols are long overdue. GO VOLS!!

i watched the TN/UK game with a business colleague of mine who’s a big UGA fan…we watched the UGA/FL game first…

before the first game started, he was talking about how bad Stetson Bennett is but that our defense isn’t good enough to keep them out of the end zone, so it would be a track meet like the Bama game.

after the UK game, he said, “dude, im scared to death now. i didn’t realize how much TN’s defense has improved.”

with the abilities our coaching staff has proven, our defense is only going to get batter, IMO.

why do we torture ourselves, deus? my wife is a uga grad, but could care less about football. my sister-in-law however is an obnoxious uga grad - always getting my kids uga crap for their bdays, christmas, hannukah, etc. she's eerily quiet too this week. what it means is that they are a bit anxious about this one.

on a side note, i saw kirby smart wear a visor at night while it was raining slightly. that guy is a douche'
