Here's the thing I don't see anyone talking about regarding Tennessee and their season so far:
Everything, and I do mean everything, has broken their way, and nothing more than the schedule.
Every big game except one (LSU) has been at home, and that one tough game on the road was at 11am Central, and not 7pm Central that LSU would prefer. Also, LSU was still figuring themselves out, especially with how best to use Jayden Daniels.
This is a team that barely beat Pitt on their backup QB who couldn't complete a forward pass. The same Pitt that the NATS, on an interim coach, easily beat.
This is the same team that barely squeaked by Floriduh at home. The same FU team we just scored 42 points on (more than the Vawls, by the way) at a neutral site while playing pretty awful on offense most of the day. Oh, and while we gave up 20 points to the 'turds (mostly thanks to 3 turnovers), Tennessee had to play a perfect game to beat them because they gave up 33 points.
They also squeaked by an undisciplined Bama team that was trying to get blown out by handing the Hillbillies 17 penalties.
I don't get it. I mean, I really don't get it. Yeah, Tennessee has the No. 1 offense. Okay. Who has the No. 2 offense? Oh yeah, it's Georgia. Tennessee's defense is awful. We have the No. 4 defense. So... I don't get it. I don't get why we need to worry about them. Or why they are now suddenly the media's darling in ways we've never been over the last 6 years. And yeah, that last bit pisses me off to no end.
The disrespect for Georgia from the national CFB media is constant and unending. It can be big (never giving Kirby credit for anything and putting out all the b.s. about how he can recruit but can't coach or develop) and it can be small (all their incredulity about the spread this week), but their fawning over Heupel and Tennessee this season in ways they've never praised us pisses me off big time.
