The best anyone can do is limit Bowers. They can’t so worried about him they forget about Washington.

It’ll be a hard matchup but I know that someone will step up and take the challenge. I’m hoping Slaughter says “I got you coach”.

Edit: If they get behind they’ll start to force to their playmakers and Tennessee has to be ready to make a play.

If their CB can one-on-one our WRs and stop our rushing, I could see that, but I haven't seen that happen yet this year (except Oregon) NOT SO FAST, yes they curbed-stomped Oregon BUT
Oregon had 313 yards of Offense,
21 First Downs,
Even on possession time,
140 yards rushing, 4.5 yards per carry,
170 yards passing (Bo Nix QB)

There are more stats, but if you didn't know the score, you would think it was a closer game than the scoreboard. BTW: 2 INTs (Bo Nix)

UGA: The offense scored 21 Points Passing; 28 Rushing
Defense: Scored 0 points
Sacks: Zero
Hurries: Zero

I am no analyst, and this was their first game, but if you match UT's strengths with UGA's: I don't see any curb-stomping going on.

All the banter is a waste of time, we play Saturday. It's not like we need to guess who would win if we played. Not many secrets about either team after 8 games. The thing I love to hear from sportswriters, coaches and opposing fans is "you can't stop Tennessee, you just try to slow them down". This is a team that 3 years ago struggled to get 14 points! Amazing!

The thing about that 41-17 win is it was a lot closer than it seems. It was 17-10 about to go to halftime and we gave up an easy score by sending an LB to cover Cook when he split wide and we had no safety help. It’s one of CJH’s big coaching mistakes, that should have been a timeout as there is no way we were covering that. Should have gone to the half at 20-10, where we could have kicked on 4th in our first drive in the 3rd instead of going for it on 4th. We stopped them on the next possession until a penalty killed us.

So instead of being down 20-13 late in the 3rd we were down 27-10 and playing desperation offense.

It’s the only game where I think CJH has been out coached at Tennessee. He doesn’t make those mistakes now.

We were in that game through 3 quarters playing what was possibly the best college defense ever….8 drafted starters, 5 in the first round. Those guys are all gone, including the best player remaining, Nolan Smith who just went down for the season.

This isn’t going to be a repeat of 2021….the UGA talent on defense just isn’t there. They’re still good because the coaching is good, but isn’t last year.

Their fanbase is worried and panicked. Saying hyperbolic things like we can't play in front of a big crowd?? EX - see Neyland stadium and Death Valley. Then saying that we won't score 20 points. We are averaging over 40 per game, this includes all our ranked opponents not the cupcakes that UGA and OSU play.

They aren't used to us being a legitimate threat and its scaring the hell out of them. The main reason i think we win by more than double digits, they are banged up right now, and no one has been able to run the ball on us. This team will be talked about for many years to come. Its truly a thing of beauty to watch.

completely agree. They are living in the past thinking that their defense is unbeatable. I'm sorry they are completely beatable, especially when you have the #1 ranked offense in college football. We will score plenty of points, we just have to get a turnover or 2 and a few stops and we win this game. LSU underestimated us and look what happened to them at their house, and they aren't a bad football team either, we just made them look that way, same with UK. They are a pretty good football team, but we made them look awful. This TN team is a bad matchup for most programs, and since we don't wear a crimson helmet, they say we aren't good or have gotten lucky in our games.

They’ve had some good performances, their defense and tight ends are fun to watch at times. Nothing near as exciting as our offense though.

Been to Athens, it can get loud but not Neyland loud. We've been to Tiger Stadium this year and didn't have a problem. With the type of offense we run and the tempo we use it almost takes the crowd out of it to a point.


We have played a much tougher schedule than UGA has this year. We've played 5 ranked teams, UGA has played 1

I know you haven't been to Sanford when they played a top 10 team, where the crowd really cares, because you guys haven't been ranked that high in a really long time. Tiger Stadium? The game that started at 11 AM? LSU for that game isn't going to be as loud as it will be for this game.

I was there when Peyton won, I’m pretty sure we were both ranked.. only thing I noticed was fans got awful salty when they lost.. and I almost got my a$$ kicked as a 19 year old girl 😂
