Lived on a farm an hour south of charlottesville for a while. Nearly married a UVA alum, cheerleader girl, her whole family being huge UVA fans. Don't think any UVA people expect to win this one. It was hard to even find UVA football fans in UVA land. How I loved everything about my stay in Virginia with her, except for the actual city of Charlottesville itself. Every little town around there is stunningly beautiful, Appalachian mountains, amazing people, then you get into the most snobby Portland Oregon-esque city I'd ever been to. I'll never forget how WEIRD Charlottesville was, after being in the HARDCORE mountains for a few weeks before meeting this woman, a UVA girl, who broke my heart forever!!
When we first started dating she took me to their season opener (if i recall correctly) vs Richmond and they barely won at the last second in a half empty stadium. No one cheered on 3rd downs for their defense, people just hung out, us young kids in the grass on the end zone getting drunk, me just staring at her beautiful eyes the whole time
She left me a week after we beat Bama, I'm sure at this point of the football season she noticed that I am a proud hillbilly and not a snobby UVA punk! Her family was getting the farm (this was the most beautiful property I'd ever seen in my life.. surrounded by mountains, huge field in a valley, 1770s home entirely rennovated, ~5k square feet, cows all over the place, in the absolute middle of nowhere called LOVINGSTON Virginia) ready that day for a snobby wine-and-cheese party, and I bet her dad was disappointed when I didn't help for one second outside, because the VOLS were playing!!!! Neither of them really watched the game, I spent 4 hours getting my sound system and finding a 4k wifi stream since we had no cable, set up a man cave that Friday night to watch the VOLS, but they watched the final 3 minutes with me, and were honestly amazed by how AMAZING the VOLS atmosphere is.
Best and worst times of my life. When we won I took her into town (charlottesville) and got way too drunk and showed my rowdy VOLUNTEER side all night long, another sequence leading to the relationships downfall. I have such a soft spot for UVA as the rural areas around it amongst the blue ridge mountains are so beautiful, that I cry pretty often reminiscing on exploring every bit of it with her. My God was she a beautiful girl, too. It just didn't work out, we fundamentally disagreed on a lot of things. When I say she was absolutely beautiful, she was perhaps the most beautiful mountain girl in the world. How I still to this day mope over her breaking my heart. That lifestyle was the best days of my life out there in the UVAland rural mountains. Didn't have to work, just got to be with this smoking hot girl in a giant mountain farm for years
her parents lived in a gated armed security suburb house, and gave us the keys to my dream home.. we were so close to getting married, starting a family
UVA is the most beautiful campus in the USA I'd say, I'll never forget her touring me all over campus that weekend, with one of their science buildings having greek paintings and marble everywhere inside of it, and she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever known. Incredibly hot, like waaay out of my league hot. And that farm from her daddy's money in Nelson County Virginia, the memories we made up until the relationship died (before I proposed to her!!) I will never forget you Virginia, but I want our vols to KICK THEIR FREAKING ASS tomorrow!!!!!! This woman made me a part time VT, JMU and WVU fan!! I hope we put 1% of the pain that little UVA girl put into my heart into UVAs football team! Vols by 100!
