My thoughts on the game…UT (and frankly the entire SEC) is overrated this season. UVA is getting no credit in the National media for the talent and untapped potential we have on the field. All anyone focuses on is our anomaly of a season in 2022. What about UNC last year? Miami anyone? I’m not worried about this game at all.

I predict a 45-27 affair with a win for the Hoos. Hoping it’s a clean game and the only injuries are your pride and rather substantial egos.

Looking forward to being 1-0 on Sunday while the bros and I drive back to civilization. Expecting big things this year for our football program. And the lacrosse team.

I’ll be pulling for you the rest of the season, if only to improve our SOS.

“They’re good. They’re really good. And what they do is, people talk about the pace, but it’s as much of how they spread the field. If you watch them, their splits are a little bit unorthodox. They kind of go against convention when you start talking about the spacing, because they really, really push their wide outs wide to the sideline. But then what it does is it forces a defense to make a decision. And then if you’re doing that and you’re changing formations, depending upon how your defense adjusts, you could have traveling back and forth with some of your secondary guys, which creates a problem in terms of getting lined up.

1. You call it slumming in Nashville. But see, I have a feeling a lot of folks in Nashville are at a higher social level than you. So keep your disdain for places like Roanoke.

2. Plenty of folks on these boards had Ivy League educations. Plenty of others went to West Point and the other military academies. We have engineers here with MIT (anyone seen a beaver?) and Colorado School of Mines in their resumes. So dial back your elite snobbery; UVa's degree is a cheap piece of parchment by comparison with some reading your words.

3. You'll see how over-rated we are when we knock your teeth out on the field. Unless you'd prefer to meet at Waffle House....?

The 247 Team Composite rankings for 2023 are up. Virginia is behind Vanderbilt in terms of roster talent. Virginia is slightly below UCF and just above Duke.

So, Virginia fans haven’t really talked a whole lot on our game this week, but I did manage to find a few nuggets:

-This game is not a fair fight. The talent gap between these teams is significant. Yes, I know that Pitt gave Tenn a really good game last year. And yes, I know that South Carolina picked off the Vols. But let’s be honest and admit that both Pitt and USC-e are well ahead of UVA in terms of pure talent. We are a tier behind those two, who are still a tier behind Tennessee. This game has the potential to be really, really, really ugly.

-They’ve been good for ONE season and now pimp around like they are Bama.

-Tenn is the most arrogant team in the nation, I can’t wait to beat them by multiple td’s.

-I hate to break it to my fellow Cavs, but we’re going to get absolutely mauled.

-I am not looking forward to a 5 TD beat down. I don’t think the tv exposure will be good for fans, recruits or national media.

-This game against Tennessee serves little purpose on paper, but maybe the lads will extract some real value from it.

I was at the Sugar Bowl in NOLA on January 1, 1991, my senior year at UT. The main thing I remember about UVA was during the half time show. The Pride of the Southland showed their usual class and were gracious in playing whatever the UVA song was to their fans. Then came the UVA version of their band. They proceeded to mock Tennessee fans with their performance as Hillbillies, rednecks and made fun of Elvis Presley while insinuating Tennessee fans are fools because they still think he's alive. Their entire intent was to insult. As evidenced by your post, to this day they are still the arrogant ones and still look down their noses at us. If Heupel wants to hang 60, I say do it. I don't let some things go very easily.
