I kinda liked the one whining about nothing being neutral at the game.
Virginia fans actually thought their team was the big selling point of this game and they were the "main character". How cute.
It is comical, but what else is he supposed to do? It is a clear mismatch, and he was trying to give it some life.My favorite part of the game was when that clown Palmer said that UVA had time and things could get interesting - that lasted all of about two minutes and then we shut them down and scored again and he went back to sleep.
Lol. You have clearly spent some time living in Georgia and know them well!I hate what happened, and I know at times people can compete with inspiration, and it be at a higher level. You nailed it though, and I had a Georgia fan friend arguing me earlier that they'd beat us because they were inspired. I tried explaining what you said, but like most Georgia fans, their logic section of the brain is filled with barking, and licking themselves.
I did see something on the billboard saying something like "Louder" when Virginia was on 3rd down. I don't know if they did that against Tennessee as well.
This was their first game since the shooting. They cancelled their last two games last year after the shooting. I’m not thin skinned but your post was not necessary.I figured it happened like last week since that was the overall UVA theme. The coach saying the real victory was the team getting on the field, everyone still in mourning, etc.
But the I google the shooting and find out it was almost a year ago..

I can understand your perspective to a point. I know when Marshall football came back after the infamous plane crash, just about every game involved some kind of memorial, even when they traveled to away games years afterward, until the coach put his foot down with “The funerals end today” (yes he did say that, or something like it, just not at the time or for the sake reason as in the film). His point was that the university and program could not move on and grow if every away game turned into a tribute. It’s terrible that it happened and I’m sure it’s tough to get through but a coach has to get his guys to focus and just play ball. You play for them you carry their memory with you and give it all you got. Players can only execute the plan they’re given and from what I saw there wasn’t much of one.

That being said, I’m not sure that applies here. This was the very first game since the tragedy as the rest of last season was canceled afterwards. It makes sense to have some kind of tasteful tribute in the first game. If they are still holding memorials at the end of the season ad nauseum, then you might have a point.
For now, better to just let it be
