What Other MessageBoards are Saying: Post Game Edition - Alabama

Their meltdown is blissful to take in, but don't act like this site doesn't look the exact same way during tough games or losses.

The difference is UT has been in or near the basement for 15 years. Alabama has been at the pinnacle of the CFB world for the same amount of time.

I can think of a lot of fan bases that would love to have only one loss per season. They've been spoiled and expect perfection, every season. Lord help them if they begin to lose one or two games annually.

Bammers are whining about ONE PI call and they conveniently screenshot it to look bad but here is an accurate still Screenshot_20221016-121519_Facebook.jpg

Kentucky worries me a lot if their QB is healthy. They are solid. I think we win at home but not a game to overlook.
Dont get me wrong, Levis gives them a shot in most of their games but hes no Bryce Young. He puts the ball in harms way a lot. They definitely cant afford to overlook UK though. I still think UT wins at least by 2 TDs.

They beautiful thing about this offense is if the D plays deep, HH will take the 5-10 yard gains with ease. Once they sit down on the short routes its a wide open bomb for a TD. Youd think they knew that after last year.

Exactly. There are so many options for Hooker to advance the ball. Another fantasy some of the KY fans tout is (paraphrasing) "If we can hold UT to 20 minutes possession we have a chance." Lol, they lost last year and held the ball 3x longer than the Vols. In this game with AL, TN's scoring drives were less than 2 minutes long. If UT has the ball 20 minutes they can score 10 times.

It's pretty amusing to read their delusional posts about controlling the pace of the game and forcing Hooker to pass "dinks and dunks". Have they ever seen Tennessee play? There's no slowing this team down. UT may score 40+ points against KY in the first half.
Are they talking about those 70 yard dinks and dunks from last year?? LOL

Wow!!! Their complaints about refs, have they witnessed any of the games in the last decade and a half?? Aside from the bogus PI on Deshawn Rucker I felt like this was one of the most evenly officiated Bama games (against anybody) in a long time… they weren’t letting them get away with crap they’re used to being able to get away with.

Thats the problem. When you get away with it long enough you forget what the rules actually are. The think the penalty’s were bogus because they are usually not called.

plenty of holding on Bama. Young doesn’t get to run around that long without one or two. A couple of blocks in the back not called on Bama either. Game was fantastic and called as fair as possible. No bias to either side imo. Took the 8 year old to the game. Wow! Was awesome but something about mikes hard lemonade and trulys that turns the natives a bit restless.

Say it again for the people in the back. This is not an air raid offense. The reason we light people up passing is because they know we will shred them with the run game if they keep the box too light. Makes no difference which to Heupel and the offensive players. They’re gonna get theirs either way.

The refs missed some calls but they got the general idea right. Alabama intentionally interferes on every pass play, knowing that the refs won't call every one (this isn't something that you can do if you're not already great at pass defense -- you have to stick with a receiver to interfere with them). The refs weren't afraid to call them on it regardless of game situation. The other big thing was calling offensive holds in the running game early in the game, pushing the Bama line to play clean so they didn't kill drives. They did clean it up a lot, and it wasn't easy for them to get things rolling.

LOL... the delusion is STRONG if they think the officiating favored UT. Bama held all night long. The overthrow to 80 by 5 was caused by Bama holding on D. One of their TD's was the direct result of an offensive PI being called on UT.

I was there and my wife was screaming at me about why we were not getting to BY and I was screaming back because Bama is holding anything we get any penetration.

Screaming because when Bama had ball, I had ear plugs in and it was impossible to hear.

BTW… for those not there when UT had the ball a lot of times the big screen flashed something like “Quiet Please Offense at Work”. It was funny considering when Bama had ball decibels always above 100

17 penalties called on AL was a shock. I did not expect officials would have the guts to do that on Saban. They could have called more but maybe they feared for their jobs if they did.

they were all so blatant they had to. Go back and look. Everyone called, I saw from 55 rows up.

I’m done with the excuses Hype beat Saban plain and simple. Saban had no answer for his scheme and it was exposed over and over and over.

Not only did his offense pass the ball well again they ran the ball with physicality for 182 yards I think. Top secondary my ass top front 4 my ass.

Keyton was held on the play that Hooker barked at him about. Wasn't called.
Yea, my thing is he looked like my 10
Year old son that turns completely around and tries to jump and catch it rather than running through the route that’s why Hooker barked at him he could have done cartwheels into end zone if he runs through the route.

This x1000. Bama OL are taught to grab, hold, tackle, whatever. And they have gotten away with it. DBs are taught to wrap up the receiver as the ball approaches. And they have gotten away with that, too. Last night on the final TD drive, #14 got flagged for PI for wrapping up as the ball approached, but still did it again on the very next play (not called).

They are taught this. So for the itty biddy lil guy to throw his team under the bus for “mistakes” in his presser was reprehensible, and something Fulmer started doing as he transitioned to Paycheck Phil. Interesting.

I’ve always said that when you play Bama it all comes down to how the game is called. Their dbs line up in your face and grab and slap at your arms for your entire route with their back to the ball. Satan is over there screaming at any ref that dares to call it. It’s the theory that they will get sick of calling it and getting screamed at. Also the game will take forever. Reminds me of when Pitino was at Kentucky and they wouldn’t allow anyone to dribble the ball without hacking and slapping the dribbler. Refs don’t want to be there all day so the rules change a little for these guys. Which reminds me, I’ve never seen Heupel look like he’s going to have a stroke screaming at refs. Satan just looks miserable every game I see. They could be winning by 50 and he’d still be furious the entire game.

Does anyone have still shots of the PI call against Bama that got their panties in such a wad? They are only mad (and claiming it wasn't PI) because the DB intercepted the ball on a defection. I watched the replay and to me it was CLEAR PI - not sure why they even had to discuss it.

Receiver slows to catch the ball.
DB never looks back and crashes into receiver.
DB then grabs receiver's arm.

Anybody got pics for my captions - trying to help a Bama friend accept reality.

I love how all the Bummers blame the refs for the record setting penalties under Saban called on them in this game. Well, what about the Texas game where the previous record was broken?

Maybe it's just this year's team is undisciplined and mistake-prone. Sure seems that way to me.

Nonetheless, their tears are tasty.

Objectively, Alabama has been the recipient of favorable officiating against almost EVERY team they've played under Saban.

Exactly this. Young gets so much praise for”extending the play “. It doesn’t come without help. No call holding every other play.
