What school in 2-5 years might have a Head Coach opening that Fulmer could land?

Given his age and the $ he has in the bank, if I'm an AD looking around I have to figure that Fulmer just isn't going to be interested in putting in 12-14 hour days very often and that he is going to get his doors blown off by the younger coaches on the recruiting trail.

He might be better off shooting for a job in administrative position at a school out west, like a BYU or an Arizona.

Where've you been, lg?

Helping Janoris get past his latest weed charge, and enrolled in UNA?

Fulmer's coaching days are most likely behind him. With that said, his best shot at getting back in the game is an AD job. Unfortunately, it's going to be a smaller (FCS or lower) school.

Then again, maybe that's just what he needs. A chance to build a program.

In any event, Good Luck, Coach.

Go Vols.

Fulmer could have had a job if he wanted one. If he would have taken a job, he would no longer get his remaining buyout payments from UT. I heard he told interested schools he wanted them to pony up what he was still owed by UT plus a nice package. I personally think he was going to make Hamilton pay him every nickel or sit out and thats why he isnt working today. Do you guys really think Minnesota would rather have Jerry Kill than Fulmer? Any number of jobs could have been his if it werent for losing that hefty buyout.

this is not true. the buyout was unconditional

And another Myth on why Fulmer could not get another HC job bites the dust.

I'm rolling at those that actually believe any BCS school that is looking to compete ever seriously considered Fulmer. I'm sure some smaller non-BCS schools would have genuine interest but I'm also pretty sure Fulmer wouldn't bite, and why should he?

I'll bite since it hasn't been said. DOUBT IT HAPPENS, BUT.... When notre dame is looking for a new hc in 4-5 years, urban meyer will be at ohio st and therefore off the table. Notre dame will have learned its lesson about nfl coaches (weiss) and sexy/relatively unproven coaches (kelly), and even minority hires who stress academics (willingham). Who knows? Maybe the moons align for fulmer, they look at his history and successes, he brings cutcliffe with him (notre dame has shown their willigness to have cut on staff) and some young recruiters and snags the job. I would love to see it for him. Again, doubt it happens, but would be great for him and college football. GBO!
