Some of the post patterns came through. Big one at OU and in Nashville to tie an important game. I already know you don't get it. King of the armchair experts! Poon HOF
Yeah Nico didn’t go a whole year without completing a pass, excellent point! He even threw a couple touchdowns against 6-6 teams!

Also saying a man belongs in the Poon Hall of Fame? Sick burn! Women would hate Poon Hall of Famers!

Think about how you constantly run down our team and players. Are you stupid enough to believe any of your opinions are credible?

Yes

Yes
What exactly makes you believe your opinions are credible? Better yet, why do you think anyone cares about your opinion of internet message board post credibility?

You may find my opinions incredible, but they line up with reality much more closely than yours.

Yup...he is a freshman.

When Peyton was a freshman, he was the 4th string quarterback.

Peyton didn’t have the luxury of sitting for a year and a half and learn without being cast directly into the fire. I think back to him (Nico) just refusing to throw the ball whether it be to a receiver or just throwing away and he simply refuses to do it. Him holding the ball on the last play at Arkansas should have raised more questions than it did instead of people laying out the “freshman” excuse. Then I believe he had a chance to throw the ball away in another game right before the half and he slid down for a loss in bounds. Why? Yea the line gets a lot of blame and rightfully so but even when they hold up Nico makes terrible throws and decisions time and time again. He’s going to have to make a MAJOR leap next year regardless of the situation because he used up all his excuses this year.

Nico was a first year starter, as much as he struggled though. The Oline struggled more. Also just didn’t have any consistency from the WRs. Injuries, drops, failure to separate etc. If you’re going to fix anything though it has to be the Oline first.

Your last comment, void of any self awareness, is exactly why you aren't credible

I don't make hyperbolic, positive claims as you do with your hyperbole with negative claims.

I didn’t make a hyperbolic claim. I said that none of the elements of the passing game were good. That isn’t a stretch or an exaggeration. You used two plays out of a 13 game season to say I “have no credibility.”

Was the passing game good, in your eyes? A simple yes or no will suffice.

Offense takes 11 people on the same page. Sometimes it was on Nico missing throws or reads. Sometimes it was WRs not getting open. Sometimes it was a bad playcall. Most of the time it was the OL getting absolutely destroyed.
This all day. Some wanna say a good QB masks a lot. And to a degree that’s true. But for an offense to run at its peak and be efficient and explosive, you have to have good QB, WR, RB, TE and OL play. You also have to have good play calling.

What was the biggest problem?
All of those were somewhat the issue. But after that Oklahoma game Josh Huepel changed his offense and made Sampson the go to guy, and play good defense. He knew he had a freshman qb and an elite rb so he fully committed to the run, and thr passing game was nothing but R.P.O s. I expect next year he’s going to let the leash off Nico and we’re going to see the old offense come back. I swear do fans pay attention to alignments, schemes? Huep changed the whole offense bc he knew he had a fresh qb, with a damn good rb. That’s it

A Sampson run up the A or B gap was at least 20% of our standard offensive play patterns......Many times throughout the season it was effective, but when the opponents defensive line and linebacker play was stout, the A & B gap routes were mostly closed....

Georgia and Arkansas shut down those gaps....It appears Ohio studied those tapes very well....They dared us to beat them through the air....This was not going to happen even if we played them 5 or more times...The air waves were closed for a variety of reasons.

Hit those routes where across the middle with a post route or slant. We do not do that since 2022. When Tenn plays teams like Ga. or Ohio St that brought pressure that bothered us we do not run routes across the middle or a te drag etc. We can not put our receivers way wide and run 15 yd plus routes when blitzed as Nico can't sit back there all day. I feel Ohio St didn't worry about our run game with Sampson out and if nico tucked and ran so be it but were not going to let Tenn beat them deep.
