What was the first Non-Tennessee college football game you attended?

1998 Penn State v. Purdue. Penn State stomped all over Drew Brees that day. I remember being super excited to go (was 10) and the game was quite boring lol

Coolest thing I remember about it was during commercial break, the announcer updated scores around the country and that was the same day Temple upset Virginia Tech, snapping a 20+ long conference loosing streak. The entire stadium (pre-expansion at that time) went "ooooooooooohhhh" when they heard it read aloud.

Growing up in a Hokie family may have been taken as a young kid to earlier Va Tech games but first non-UT game I can remember was 1992 West Virginia at Va Tech at age 8. A week before saw Tennessee beat Florida in the rain and realized that my family were fans of the wrong school.

East Carolina College in 1962. Watching the great Coach Clarence Stasovich run his single wing to perfection...I don't remember the opponent; but it was a trip with the Boy Scouts. The next week I got to see Notre Dame whoop C'lina in Chapel Hill with my dad

I went to a ton of Duke games at Wallace Wade Stadium. The best memory is the infamous “Pink panties” game when Spurrier was coach and Duke upset top 10 Clemson.

1994 rice v Texas tech and then rice v Texas the following week
I was being recruited by rice to play

It was my first shock to how big and fast d1 players really are.
Just a dumbass little 17 year old and was in awe

Rice won both games btw

ETSU most likely. I think the first first game I saw was against Marshall. Could’ve been UTC

Took my wife to a Georgia game where they played Nichols st, and almost lost🤣. She was good about going to Tennessee games with me, so I took her. It was awesome, band guy leading their walk was lucky enough to stand beside me. He was telling us how excited he was because it was his first time, and I told him I was a Tennessee fan and hope they lost 🤣. Two guys in front of our seats kept turning around because I was laughing every time Georgia done something bad. One finally told the other, "I don't think the guy behind us is a real fan cause he keeps laughing at us". I leaned between them and said I wasn't, hoping you lose, and go Vols🤣.

EDIT: This started a trend where my dad and I went to each Liberty Bowl game from 1978-1987. We lived in Jackson, Tn, so…..

To this day, the coldest I’ve ever been was the ‘83 Liberty Bowl between ND and BC.

7 degrees at kickoff. Well below 0 at the end

1991 Miami at Boston College. Miami was ranked first and Tom Coughlin was in his first season as BC head coach. The Eagles almost pulled of the upset.
