Obviously a known commodity. The question in situations like this is how well he can gel with the team

Don't know how much this counts, but Stokes and McRae were pretty happy with the news on twitter.

I think he has 1 more class to complete and won't be able to be here until July. Not quite certain though. I just remember seeing that he wasn't going to be able to make the RTL.

Poor Memphis... looking at the video they were behind in every game but one.(Arizona) Were even behind in the East Carolina game. All that talent and cant figure out how to use it.

And yes Tiger fans you did make the dance last year. And no we did not. Well done. :)

As a Memphis Tiger basketball fan i think there is a need to change leadership. Asap!

Barton brings three things:

1) Great outside shooting

2) Great, hard nosed defense

3) More consistency

Barton can't break down a defense like Golden nor can he pass like Golden. I'd say ball handling is about the same. But he'll be more consistent and better defense. Tough to say it's an immediate upgrade, but he will replace Golden's production.

Yeah I can understand that frustration. Like us, its a big year for you guy too.

CCM, Pastner, and Rick Barnes might combine to coach a girls upward bound team, if they dont make it happen this year. :)

Easy to replace Trae's production after about 3 misses in a row, and a missed foul call. IMO

I guess 12 one night and 2 the next is more consistent than 20 one night and 2 the next. That doesn't make it better.

Trae is a better player, but I honestly think Barton fits our team better than Trae. We don't need the PG to put up a ton of points. We need a reliable ball handler who can defend and control the tempo. If Barton can limit turnovers, Hubbs provides another guy who can get his own shot. Barton needs to Shoot well, D up and not try to do too much. I think he will do the last 2 things better than Trae did. They are comparable open 3 shooters.

This post is 100% littered with accuracy.

As long as the others team pg isn't scoring 15+ a night then Idc if Barton only scores 2 points a night. If we need scoring that's what McRae, Hubbs, Maymon, and Stokes is for.

I don't think Pastner has anything to worry about. He did just get an extension and 2.65 mil ayear.

You guys will love Barton. He's really been more of a 2 but played point at times. I would sure rather have him than Golden. I think AB will be more consistant.
