So people are sort of forgetting something here:

Tennessee is 21 in the final CFP Rankings, which don’t release another poll rankings.

Tennessee at 8-4 went into the bowl game ranked #25 in the AP Poll and #23 in the Coaches Poll. Those are the rankings that the pollsters will be working around following the bowl win.
