What Will It Take To Restore This Program?

There are some who for some reason believe Holly should be retained for another season. One wonders how any sane person could come to this conclusion after what has transpired this season. This program is simply awful with no visions of getting better in the near future. How can we start on the road to restoration?

1. Fire the entire staff after our short run in the NCAA Tournament.
2. Start looking at possible replacements right now.
3. There are million dollar coaches we could go after, however, look at other top young successful head coaches with successful programs at existing D1 and second tier programs. I would also not rule out first assistant coaches at one of the top five D1 schools.
3. Make every effort to have a coach in place ASAP, no later than June, so he/she can start recruiting and working with the players that remain. This might mean filing available 2016 scholarships with lesser stars/JC players, recruited by the incoming coach. They would have more time to consentrated on the 2017 recruiting class. If he/she has a history of success this would be a plus.

The knowledge that a new coach with a history of success is taking over this program could also limit possible transfers. A good coach with 4 5 stars, could certainly make the Lady Vols more of a viable program.

This mess can be corrected but to do so, we cannot keep Holly, in hope that she can all of a sudden become a good coach and recruiter. The experiment is over.

I agree with this post 100 percent except for the suggestion to look at first assistant coaches at top 5 D1 schools. The present LV coach fitted this mold and look what happen! We need someone with a proven track record as a successful head coach.

You really think a top coach would want to jump into this mess right now?

My friend, it will be worse next season for any top coach who may consider U.T. Next season, we will have a losing record, with no glimpse of a chance to make it to the NCAA.

Yes, plenty of coaches...
