I definitely expect Fulky and Pons to clean this up. Both of those guy's FG% is way below where they finished last season. It's actually a silver lining, in a way because it's such a small sample size. And we absolutely pulverized a team that led against 'Nova in the second half anyways. I do agree though, the first real test comes Wednesday night.Man, I read the first 6 pages and did not see one reference to finishing at the rim. Way too many misses when not fouled, especially by Fulky and Pons. Our guards have missed some on drives too. Got to get those bunnies in close games for sure.
You are aware that JJJ and Springer are both shooting the 3 better than SV and Bailey? JJJ has always shot the 3 at a better pct than Vescovi. It is hard to know at this point since we still haven't played any real good teams yet. I would have said 3-point shooting before the season started, but Bailey is a pleasant surprise on that front. With him and Vescovi being sharp shooters, and Springer and Keon and JJJ being okay, we seem to pretty good in that spot. I think the primary issue is turnovers. We can be really sloppy with the ball at times. And I also think rebounding will be a problem against better competition.

I agree Vescovi is better, but I think JJJ is good too. He just takes only super open 3s.My better you mean by .7% and Vescovi had almost doubled the attempts last year. And then this year Vescovi has two more attempts per game and is only 2.5% lower than JJJ so some context needs to be added to that.
His response was to the Springer and JJJ have been "okay" statement. They've been more than okay, and this was his point, I believe. The fact that all four of those guys have been good is just icing on the cake.My better you mean by .7% and Vescovi had almost doubled the attempts last year. Exactly. Implying that JJJ is better 3pt shooter is ridiculous. JJJ looks to have become reliable in a small sample size so far. That is great. There is also a difference in the types of 3's that JJJ takes. He is not hunting 3's or taking them as the shot clock expires. He takes feet-set, wide-open, catch and shoot 3's.He’s been very efficient this year, wasn’t a knock on JJJ. Just saying “JJJ shoots a better percentage” needs a lot more context lol
Fulky is that guy and proved it consistently the last half of last season. If teams try to pack the paint, we’ve got 4 guys who can consistently hit open catch and shoot 3’s. Interesting thread, but this is the most deeply talented team we’ve had that I can recall. It’s bball and we’re going to lose some games, but I’m pumped about our chances and roster. If we can hit our hot streak at the season end, then I like this team’s chances as well as any others in the NCAA.Also, it concerns me that we do not have a go to guy, in crunch time. Someone needs to step up.
