What's the timeframe on a return to relevance?

Awwww is someone still upset because he got fooled by Gruden???? We played teams to the wire a lot more than we did the yr before. By the time nov came along (easier part of schedule) the Gruden lovefest bs had made it to the national media. Pt blank it was more hurtful than helpful IMHO. Like it or not I really dont give d**n what you think. :hi:

I don't care what you think because your initial statement is completely asinine. The blame for the crumbling of the season is on the coaches and players and them alone!!!

Frankly I don't care if you've mentioned anything negative about them specifically. Personally I think you are one of the most negative POSs on this board. Just in general life. It shows in the way you come off in your posts. Just IMHO tifwiw :hi:

In other words you can't back up your bs, idiot.

Okie dokie. And I don't care what you think cause you r to simpleminded to understand what my initial statement meant and understand how it can affect the season.

Year 2...

Year 2 is also normally the 'magical' year for most new coaches. The most improvement is from year one to year two. I think next year it will be a year of adjustment just not for our offense but for the defense as well going back to square one. All the 'good' coaches in this league did very well in year two. Meyer, Muschamp, Richt, Saban, Miles, have all went 13-1 in year two at their schools. I expect at least 10 wins in 2014 and in the discussion in the east.

2 human years or 2
Dooley years?

The brutal nature of next year's schedule combined with losing most of the people responsible for our production on offense has been talked about enough that I don't think most of us expect to contend for the East next season. We're going to lose the bulk of the starters on both lines after next season. Given the time it usually takes to get incoming lineman strong and big enough to be an effective starter in the SEC, I'm not sure that we will have much of a DL in 2014. It just seems like the program is completely out of synch where we're constantly going back square one at some crucial area while peaking at another. We're basically at the bottom the SEC right now so how many years should it take to get this thing set to rights?

4 years under the right coaching staff. Unfortunately, we don't have the right coaching staff.

If our beloved Vols have hired the right coach we make a run at the SEC and potentially the National Championship in 15'. All we need to do is get to Atlanta... that would be my definition of ''Relevant again''. We should see improvement immediately, but that may not equate into 8 wins next season. I predict 7 wins next season with 8 wins being the ceiling. I also believe Butch Jones is maybe the steal out of the 3 SEC head coaching hires, but IMO Arkansas takes the cake on assistants hired. I do believe in the end though Jones knows what he has in his staff, and should have a leg up out of the 3 due to the familiarity factor. Go Vols..!!
