This is both basketball and football. So if mods, you feel the need to move that's fine.
Find it interesting the opposite outcomes of the 2 sports, although I'm not sure how often the Vols bball have beaten Florida lately, but it seems to be often. Perhaps there is no question or point to this thread, but I can't grasp how the football team and buy a win against the Gators but the Gators have had trouble with them in bball (if I'm correct).

When CJ Watson broke Joakim Noah's face and Noah and Horford failed to retaliate, it cemented the relationship in a status where UTK is the man's man and Florida is the milquetoast teen wannabe. It was such an awesome event that it rippled both forward and backward in time, which is why Udonis Haslem was unable to perform against the Vols.

it all started in football in 95 or 96 when Peyton manning was destroying UF on their own home court like 31 to 14 at half time. When Gators came out of locker room I think somebody on UT fumbled and UF scored. well they went on a rampage beating UT 63 to 37 or something. ever since then nothing has been the same. Before this they were another tough team to beat. Now their all up in our heads. We seem to fear them more then we do Bama

This, we play like some beeches against them in football no matter the case. The last few years (4) they have just been flat out better but the 5 or so years before thT we just phased out in football

That was one of the most intense and exciting finishes to a UTK basketball game for me. Man, Watson was near unstoppable for a little while there.

Answer to OP= We have the deed to florida's ass in B Ball, vice versa in football. The exception is that no one expected us to keep whooping them in B Ball. They expect us to lose to them in football=national perception

What's with the UTK crap every post? We are the original UT. It is also a Vols website so we all know it is in Knoxville.

That's how the Knoxville campus is largely referred to internally. If you go to school there, that's probably how you think of it. At least I know I still do. Calling it "UTK crap" is borderline offensive.

As far as the actual question goes, the more players on a team, the bigger an advantage straight demographics is for Florida. One player was enough to win Syracuse a national title in basketball. It takes dozens in football.

That would be former coach Jay Graham and I believe he fumbled twice on back to back possesions
