Whats with UT vs Florida?

You're a moron for this post. Are you saying Florida basketball and Kentucky football are at the same level? Florida recently has multiple titles in Fball and Bball, so no, the OP is not a moron.

I was just using them as examples. There are a lot of schools that are good in one sport and not the other. The op is implying just because we beat them in basketball it doesn't make sense why we can't beat them in football. The two aren't connected.

no he is not you obviously dont understand what he is saying. He is just starting a debate about why we always beat them in basketball and they always beat us in football. Where in that did it say because we beat them in basketball they beat us in fball.

also, florida is not one of those schools, they are good at both sports, so what the hell are you talking about

it all started in football in 95 or 96 when Peyton manning was destroying UF on their own home court like 31 to 14 at half time. When Gators came out of locker room I think somebody on UT fumbled and UF scored. well they went on a rampage beating UT 63 to 37 or something. ever since then nothing has been the same. Before this they were another tough team to beat. Now their all up in our heads. We seem to fear them more then we do Bama

We scored enough points to beat Florida when Manning was playing here. Our defense was victimized by their offense and just could not score enough points to win.

The football part is easy to explain, over the last decade UF has simply had more quality coaches and more quality players than TN, thus resulting in us getting our ass kicked every September.

It was 1995 and Jay Graham fumbled on either the opening or second 3rd quarter possession in our own end. Florida went on to blow us out after that.

When CJ Watson broke Joakim Noah's face and Noah and Horford failed to retaliate, it cemented the relationship in a status where UTK is the man's man and Florida is the milquetoast teen wannabe. It was such an awesome event that it rippled both forward and backward in time, which is why Udonis Haslem was unable to perform against the Vols.

had to look it up

It's okay guys, I'm here now.

Football:
In the 90s UT and UF had comparable talent, and you could argue many years UT had superior talent. UF had Spurrier, and SEC defenses only began catching up with his offense as the decade came to a close. Other than the Zook years, UF has had a decided coaching and talent advantage.

Basketball:
UF is something like 5-11 against UT since 2006. I would trade an 0-16 record against UT for B2B national titles and two Elite 8 appearances. That said, some of Donovan's teams have a reputation for playing soft, which caused matchup problems against a UT program who for whatever reason saves their best performances for my Gators.

I'm all about UT, but dude they won two national championships during that time. I'm a UT fan and it's hard for me to say that we were better than them during that time. We did beat them, but they have rings.

Gonna beat Florida in baseball this year too

Florida could not be that bad at baseball. Our team is going to suck.

I think Florida owns us in football much more than we do in basketball. Since we started playing them every year we are 6-17. However, I did read that UT basketball is 44-15 when playing at TBA.

It wouldn't surprise me if UF has a losing record all-time against the majority of SEC schools in hoops.

We were horrible in basketball until Norm Sloan started paying ballers like Vernon Maxwell in the mid 80s....oops, did I say that out loud?

He was the most hated player in the SEC until this season when Marshall Henderson stole his thunder.

As time passes, I've become apathetic towards Henderson. He's a gunner who doesn't make anyone on his team a better player. You could argue Henderson makes his team worse.

As much as fans hated Noah, you knew your team had to bring its A-game against him, because Noah left everything he had on the court, which in some cases included his teeth.
