Whats with UT vs Florida?

Florida could not be that bad at baseball. Our team is going to suck.

I think Florida owns us in football much more than we do in basketball. Since we started playing them every year we are 6-17. However, I did read that UT basketball is 44-15 when playing at TBA.

TBA opened in '87. UT hasn't played UF 59 times at TBA.

it all started in football in 95 or 96 when Peyton manning was destroying UF on their own home court like 31 to 14 at half time. When Gators came out of locker room I think somebody on UT fumbled and UF scored. well they went on a rampage beating UT 63 to 37 or something. ever since then nothing has been the same. Before this they were another tough team to beat. Now their all up in our heads. We seem to fear them more then we do Bama

I'm 22 so I never live a real bama rivalry. We was kicking bamas as in the 90s and now they kick ours but Florida I hate more then any team. I want to kick there ass in every sport. Hell if we had a sowing team I'd want them to win against the gators

As time passes, I've become apathetic towards Henderson. He's a gunner who doesn't make anyone on his team a better player. You could argue Henderson makes his team worse.

As much as fans hated Noah, you knew your team had to bring its A-game against him, because Noah left everything he had on the court, which in some cases included his teeth.

Both very valid points. I agree with you. Henderson is a cancer to Ole Miss. He had his two weeks of fame and then the wheels fell off. I believe they will miss the tourney and we will take their place within the next week.

It wouldn't surprise me if UF has a losing record all-time against the majority of SEC schools in hoops.

We were horrible in basketball until Norm Sloan started paying ballers like Vernon Maxwell in the mid 80s....oops, did I say that out loud?

I agree Fla has gotten entirely too cocky. I still hate Ala first then Ga because their fans are so obnoxious, but your right Fla needs to be brought down a notch or three. They have beaten us 8 times in a row and that just can't be allowed to continue. :rock::rock:

Find it interesting the opposite outcomes of the 2 sports, although I'm not sure how often the Vols bball have beaten Florida lately, but it seems to be often. Perhaps there is no question or point to this thread, but I can't grasp how the football team and buy a win against the Gators but the Gators have had trouble with them in bball (if I'm correct).

When CJ Watson broke Joakim Noah's face and Noah and Horford failed to retaliate, it cemented the relationship in a status where UTK is the man's man and Florida is the milquetoast teen wannabe. It was such an awesome event that it rippled both forward and backward in time, which is why Udonis Haslem was unable to perform against the Vols.

From the looks of Noah he still hasn't gotten it fixed all these years later. Damn deductible.

Allow me to sum up: Basketball and Football are 2 separate entities. One has nothing to do with the other really. We own them in basketball; they own us in football. Would that it weren't so... would gladly swap with them and take the football superiority .... could just be me.
