Whats your job?

Dropped out of high school at the end of my sophomore year after reading On the Road. Spent my 17th birthday getting drunk in a bar outside of Big Sur with a couple people from Australia who were visiting. Got my GED and spent two years at CSCC before transferring to OSU and finishing my degree.

I own a marketing company and a group of insurance agencies. Am thinking of going back and getting my law degree so I can open a collections agency.

Still have the copy of On the Road and remember the feel of air running through my fingers as I hold my hand out the window driving 70 at 1am south of Colorado Springs and headed to Sante Fe ...

You're working on becoming one of the most hated people in America, eh?

This would make a good country song, go ahead, sing it while you read

As of now I'm supposed to be going into the College Of Business. But this last week I've been thinking about looking into something in engineering. A lot of my friends are doing it, and I have always been interested in technology and stuff. I can't decide if I should try it out or not. One problem is that I have Orientation in a few weeks and I'm not sure how that would go with me being with Business majors at Orientation...

Can some engineering majors here help me out on some things regarding the program? What was your specific major/minor? I'm thinking maybe Electrical or Computer but not real sure yet.

TIA

Dropped out of college for various reasons, mainly because I didn't want to be an engineer anymore. I'm currently an assistant manager at a hardware store, been there for a total of 4.5 years. Currently being groomed to be a bike mechanic and manage a bike shop. Got my key and security code yesterday.

Do both - look into a double major. You may have to pick one over the other now but when you can take an elective in the major you didn't choose.

Engineering and Business is a great combination. In fact, the MBA degree was originally created to provide business education engineers.

Degree in Physics from UT. Now a Naval Officer out in San Diego.

Welcome fellow San Diegan. Do you attend the local alumni football viewing parties at PB Bar and Grill?

I'm a senior software developer. I got my IS degree from Tenn Tech in 1998.

I'm sure I could do something else but ever since I played with my first Commodore 64 I knew my future would have something to do with a computer.

i am now a senior in highschool and would love to go to UT but i am afraid i wont get accepted so hopefully i can get into UTC

I think you should be good. Did you take any honors/AP classes, play sports, do clubs or anything? That definitely will help

I teach 2 different disciplines: Technology/Engineering Education and Modern and US History in high school. Been teaching for 17 years.

I coached football for 15 years (D Coordinator for several of those) but had to give that up because of medical issues. I now coach girls high school softball and have been for the last 8 years. Softball has been a blast and one of the most rewarding endeavors of my career.
