In light of the January 6th "Stop the Steal" riot at the U.S. Capitol, haven't threads like this become passe? I'm surprised to see so many posters still replying to this thread. It doesn't show much self-awareness. Conservatives/Republicans want to believe that their side of the aisle is above involvement in chaotic political protests and public demonstrations with senseless acts of violence and vandalism being committed, but recent history has shown that they aren't above anything. What we saw in full display on January 6, 2021 is that both parties have extremist, lunatic fringe elements who lack respect for law and order, as well as for both public and private property.

Maybe we need a "When 'Washington D.C.' comes to your town, where are you gonna go?" thread too?

I think the people who actually breached the Capitol and were involved in violence are just as idiotic as the Antifa/BLM types who were looting, rioting, assaulting people, committing arson, etc all over the country. However you are talking about 100-200 people during ONE incident versus literally hundreds and hundreds of people in at least 30-40 cities over the course of last year

Your estimate is way off. As of yesterday, 397 people have been charged in the U.S. Capitol riot so far. The total number of people involved was well over 1,000.

The capitol was one day/one event. Antifa has been going on for how long? In how many locations? And most of the Democrat leadership still wants to pretend they are a “myth”, or “boogeyman”. We could also look at blm burning and destroying all across the country, then compare you and other liberals reactions to these events and the capitol. If you wanna see a lack of self awareness, take a look at that corpse you voted for as president.

That seems like an attempt to marginalize what really was a pointless attack of an unprecedented nature against both a government body and the system of elections in the United States. I'm afraid it was more significant than people like yourself wish to describe it.

I'm fully aware of who Joe Biden is, warts and all. He is an uninspiring career politician, but I would gladly vote for him again, if the other major party option was a person with the character of Donald Trump.

I leave idiots to idiot, I don't start trouble anymore and I sure as hell try to avoid it. That being said I protect my property and home. No protesters would be on my street anyway, I live way out on a country road where livestock outnumber people 40 to 1. I trust animals more than people anyway.
