When Arkansas Fires Pittman

OLine had been a problem in Knoxville for a decade due mainly to crappy coaching and subpar recruiting.
You don't build a dominant OLine in a season.
Most freshman are not ready to hold their own.
It takes a season or two to turn highschool fat into man muscle.

Can we please hire him to replace our way underachieving O line coach? Just not recruiting and developing talent well enough.

Pittman will be snatched up by a Texas or Georgia type team to coach their offensive line.

Ellarbee is doing a solid job and has put Jerome Carvin and Darnell Weight on NFL rosters.

Many of our fans don’t understand that being a failure as a head coach has nothing to do with being a coordinator or position coach. It’s always surprising how many.

Regardless, we have a good OLine coach.

One reason for Tennessee’s recent success is continuity on the coaching staff. That means so much in building relationships with players and then establishing rapport and mutual respect once the kids join the team.
We have to get out of the “fire somebody” mindset it we want long term success

I hope the Vols win by 50 Sat. Then I hope Pittman wins every game the rest of the season. Damn, I like the guy but don’t give a damn about Arkansas.

Ellerbe catches hell but he’s done a good job here. Mays nor Spraggins were “developed” when he got here. Recruiting OL is a longer process due to smaller number of kids 6-4+ that can play. He had no shot at 4 & 5* kids until NCAA issues left.

Doesn’t really matter that the idgits feel the need to tar and feather a coach, any coach, as long as Danny and Heup keep their heads screwed on tight.
